Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Premiere Homes build Corimbia Landsdale WA 181Jul 19, 2013 2:02 am Thanks Kat and fmac for your input The whole colour selection process has been the hardest but I think as time has gone on we are getting a lot better at it lol We went back to the first tile shop we went to back in Oct/Nov and looked at the tiles we first selected....so glad they weren't our final choice they were really bad...but we really had no idea what we wanted The mocha tile we chose a few months ago...we must of spent a couple of hours there today trying to make a final decision but kept coming back to the same problem it was the best match to the cupboards and our preference of a black or charcoal just made our doors look brown...I must of said 1000 times its a great match but its still leans itself towards a brown colour scheme and I really don't want a brown colour scheme...next to the charcoal carpet it will look brown... In the end we went to another shop and found plan b straight away...almost the identical floor tile we chose for the main floor But in the 300x600 size with the matching main floor tile This is the colour scheme we are already planning on using in our kitchen and love it... I guess we are lucky that we could delete our tiles and go anywhere and aren't limited to the builders range We are also doing full height tiling to all our wet areas. Imagine what the builder would of said if we told them we wanted full height rectified porcelain tiles in all our wet areas lol Design by Greater Concept - modified version Evolution Court Build by Premiere Homes My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64854 Re: Premiere Homes build Corimbia Landsdale WA 182Jul 19, 2013 6:05 am hahaha yeah we didn't even bother asking our builder to quote it...but now that we have bought the tiles and have a quote to lay them i am curious as to whether we did the right thing! I reckon you have done well with your color selections Re: Premiere Homes build Corimbia Landsdale WA 183Jul 19, 2013 10:25 am It's all going to look great BB, nice colour choices. Really like that glossy polytec stuff, very spiffy! Hopefully you get a slab soon and it will all start falling into place! Re: Premiere Homes build Corimbia Landsdale WA 184Jul 23, 2013 8:28 pm We are so close yet so far!!! Our pad will go down one day..... I was so excited today finally got an email from our builder...opened it slowly looking for the magic words to say pad was ready to go but alas another small hiccup Our electrician has recommended a three phase power upgrade as we are currently sitting at 55amps...with a maximum of 63amps (whatever that means) and this would cause a problem if we want to add a/c etc.... We almost did this when we were looking at a/c but didn't know much about three phase power so didn't....go that way but now researching our a/c requirements this will open up the option for a three phase system... It's only $220 to upgrade luckily the builder has picked this up would of been a problem if they said nothing and then we found out when the aircon went in.... A small hiccup but this a worthwhile one Design by Greater Concept - modified version Evolution Court Build by Premiere Homes My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64854 Re: Premiere Homes build Corimbia Landsdale WA 185Jul 23, 2013 8:32 pm With a house as big as yours I would definitely recommend 3-phase power Re: Premiere Homes build Corimbia Landsdale WA 186Jul 23, 2013 10:30 pm Three phase is something I was concerned about but know nothing about and no one could give us any advice Re: Premiere Homes build Corimbia Landsdale WA 187Jul 24, 2013 8:48 pm Same Kat when we first looked at air cond they asked us if we were getting three phase... We had no idea what that even means lol so we said no and never thought about it again but now we have looked into it air con again and realised before prestart maybe we should of looked more into it more as it limits our air con choices ..looks like we get a second chance to make that decision lol without even a variation fee. We never had it in our last house and we had a spa, pool and big air con. So who knows We do have two 15 amp Powerpoints (thats nearly half of our limit) and a crazy number of lights and Powerpoints and are planning on putting a nice reverse cycle in so for us it should of been on our must have list... What that means?? It's not like you turn everything on at once lol.... Yup we'll have 3 phase once it's all up and running - I'm not 100% sure how to explain it so I'll make hubby write something later on Re: Premiere Homes build Corimbia Landsdale WA 192Jul 26, 2013 10:35 am butterbingNo idea they just told me that max amps is 63amps for singe phase and we are already at 55amps without an aircon.. What that means?? It's not like you turn everything on at once lol.... haha you'd be surprised, if you happen to have the air con on, while the oven is on, and the kids are watching TV, and you've got a load of washing on... best to be on the safe side! Re: Premiere Homes build Corimbia Landsdale WA 193Jul 26, 2013 4:34 pm Having three phase power means you will avoid overloading the circuit if you add more appliances and/or electrical stress to it. If you're adding a pool/spa you definitely need a three phase power system to to alleviate the stress on a single power phase. The motors on those pools and spas draw A LOT of power.
