I still haven't seen it in person but the tree is a lot more damaged than it appears in the photo. It is actually almost ripped back to the centre of the trunk. The construction manager is now aware so hopefully they find who did it and rip them a new one... I will certainly be following up to make sure.
In other news our SS has left the company. We only found out in reply to my email about the tree and other stuff - more great communication there. They are advertising in the paper for new SS's this weekend so I guess we'll see what happens. Not great timing for us though as I don't think our bricks would have been ordered since the SS never started on our build (apparently the SS picks up the job after the slab goes down and orders the bricks).
Oh, and they are also advertising "urgently" for bricking teams for immediate start, so it sounds like we might be waiting a while for anything to happen on the bricking front regardless of the SS situation.... if the slab had been done on time (2 weeks earlier) then we might not have been in this situation. More wasted time and interest payments.
This house better be worth it.
