(29/4) 187May 07, 2010 4:34 pm Thanks Poohbear, Nightshade. Megan went out to take the pictures - I haven't seen it for over a week now. We're likely to go out again tomorrow. Hopefully they're close to, if not finished with the framing. The SS mentioned they should be done with it by this weekend - hope he was right. (29/4) 188May 08, 2010 8:29 pm We made the obligatory trip out to Stonecutters Ridge today, and to check on the progress of the house. It looks like M3tr1con was hard at work this week, despite a bit of inclement weather midweek. We were alerted to the fact that the chippies were out on site today (Saturday), in an attempt to get back on schedule. Kudos to M3tr1con for making up for lost time! Last week, they had much of the first story framed up. Today, we found the 2nd story framed, with most of the roof finished. There wasn’t much wood left on site, but I’d say that the rest of the framing work could be finished within a day. Here's a few photos, but as always, more on the blog. (29/4) 189May 08, 2010 10:08 pm One question, I noticed today around the areas where the laundry and downstairs drains will be that water was starting to pool around them. Does anyone know if this is normal or why this might be happening? Re: Liberty 42 @Stonecutters Ridge - Framing started! (29/4) 190May 09, 2010 9:01 am T - that happened to us as well - it's just poor drainage around the clay areas. Are they the lowest points in that area? We had that around our outdoor area - but once we filled it in - the problem went away (plus turf helps). If it's still pretty soggy - you should be able to connect an ag pipe in a trench up to your stormwater. After 4 years - we're in! Re: Liberty 42 @Stonecutters Ridge - Framing started! (29/4) 191May 09, 2010 9:07 am Thanks Stonecutter1309. Not sure if you only got that outside but we have it on the slab at the moment. They are the lowest points on the slab if you remember me pointing out the pipes that had been scraped around them so that there was a bit of a dip down to them. Makes me think that the water has been turned on or there is water sitting in the pipes with nowhere to go yet. Re: Liberty 42 @Stonecutters Ridge - 2nd story framed! (8/5) 194May 10, 2010 9:54 am Just spoke to our SS and he said that our front balcony is being done today and the roofing frame completed. We are then expecting the plumber on site for the next 2 days and then shortly after I believe our bricking will commence. He said that usually take about 2.5-3weeks and our roof will go on after bricking. We at least have a good timeline to go on for a while now. I also asked about the pooling of water around the drains and he said that is normal and to do with the waste. All good and go team! Re: Liberty 42 @Stonecutters Ridge - 2nd story framed! (8/5) 195May 15, 2010 10:44 am Went to the lot yesterday, and the roof had been finished being framed, and the windows that were leaning up against the fence last week, were now in place. We timed our trip perfectly, as we arrived just as the bricky showed up to drop off some tools and have a look around the house, before he starts the brickwork next week! Pulling up to the house, the first thing we noticed was that the front veranda was completed and ready for the brick pillars to be installed around the metal supports. The house now looks like the Liberty should look barring, well, everything else. Alongside the house were the numerous pallets of bricks, ready for next week. Here’s hoping the forecasted rain holds out (or misses Stonecutters Ridge entirely). The plumbing has been installed too. Drain pipes and both the water and recycled water lines have been run to the appropriate spots, and the frames have gone in for the bathtubs to sit in. Megan was, of course, very excited about this. (14 200May 18, 2010 7:14 pm Drove through today to see if there had been any progress with our bricking this week. Unfortunately with the wet weather, all that had been completed over the last two days was the layout of bricks around the house in preparation for bricking. Here's hoping the weather clears up for the remainder of the week. Stefan Building the M3tr!con Liberty 42 at Stonecutters Ridge. The New Build Blog - "Life, In Progress."
