Browse Forums Building A New House Re: The CARLISLE HOMES General Information Thread 181Oct 21, 2009 9:29 pm Hello I'm really glad to see a general thread for the Carlisle Homes community, you can add me to the list. I'm building Atlantique 36 in Taylors Hill and we're up to the fixing stage now. No major issue with the builder so far, my CLE has always been fantastic and responsive to all my enquiry. Just have a change to a new site supervisor and he sounds like he's on top of everything so far. Thank you Salt&Pepper I've read your thread and your house looks fantastic! I'm so glad to hear that everything turned out well for you. Must admit I'm still pretty nervous about how my house will turn out. I went for the Waterview facade and got the alfresco extended. Kitchen is gallery style similar to the display home that was at Caroline Springs. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES General Information Thread 188Oct 21, 2009 10:04 pm Thanks moogle!! Ahh the Waterview facade.. that ones very popular!! I think nowadays its extra charge, it used to be a no charge facade. Theyve had this facade since their establishment. Did you sign up for the Caroline Springs version? We did... but opted for L shape kitchen instead of galley. Will you have the corner bifolds? We wanted the extended alfesco.. but land was a little bit small for it.. We did have a few hiccups during the build.. but overall, it was a good experience. Good luck for the rest of your build... oh and photos!! Re: The CARLISLE HOMES General Information Thread 189Oct 21, 2009 10:05 pm Hehe you stuffed toy isn't a cat by any chance...? My name came from my (now deceased) cat whose nickname was Moogles... good luck with the rest of your build Building on the Sunshine Coast - Land settled 22nd July 2009 Building contract finally signed (after much deliberation on our part) 11th November 2009 Building commences 25th January 2010 - small local builder End of June - almost completed fit out 26th July - MOVE IN DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Re: The CARLISLE HOMES General Information Thread 190Oct 22, 2009 7:13 pm Carlisle use Rendered Foam over the garage area.. (as cladding) Any idea what is Rendered Foam ? Is it strong enough material ? Re: The CARLISLE HOMES General Information Thread 191Oct 22, 2009 7:16 pm DARING2Build Carlisle use Rendered Foam over the garage area.. (as cladding) Any idea what is Rendered Foam ? Is it strong enough material ? Rendered foam?? I have no idea what that is...... Which facade are you doing? Is 'rendered foam' used in the display/in your contract drawings? Re: The CARLISLE HOMES General Information Thread 192Oct 22, 2009 7:30 pm Damn wish we asked for rendering around our garage, still considering having it done once we are finished with the build. I've heard of the rendered foam before but had no idea that Carlisle use it - I know that Urbanedge use it a lot. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES General Information Thread 193Oct 22, 2009 7:36 pm I guess it is a way of saving some 'more' money (for builder of course) Carlisle used to do brickwork over the garage area (have seen some pictures posted by other Cralislelers here) Now in the drawing (the preliminary) I received.. it says 'Rendered Foam' I've heard it is something like 105 per sqm (rendered and installed Bordeaux 40 - considering Cosmopolitan and Clearwater facades Will finalise one of these two Cheers Re: The CARLISLE HOMES General Information Thread 194Oct 22, 2009 7:39 pm Any blogs that have 'many pictures' of Bordeaux 40 plz I found only one blog.. need more Re: The CARLISLE HOMES General Information Thread 195Oct 22, 2009 8:05 pm DARING2Build I guess it is a way of saving some 'more' money (for builder of course) Carlisle used to do brickwork over the garage area (have seen some pictures posted by other Cralislelers here) Damn, wish I knew they did that - we would have had them render the garage as well... arrgh!! not that I hate the painted infil panels but I'd much rather a rendered finish. I wonder what the cost of getting a renderer out afterwards to do it all and render our alfresco as well... hummm. Cannot really get Carlisle to do it because they would slap on a $500 variation fee on top of it making it uneconomical. Maybe we can talk to the guys doing the rendering on the day to see if they can do it Re: The CARLISLE HOMES General Information Thread 196Oct 22, 2009 8:21 pm DARING2Build I guess it is a way of saving some 'more' money (for builder of course) Carlisle used to do brickwork over the garage area (have seen some pictures posted by other Cralislelers here) Now in the drawing (the preliminary) I received.. it says 'Rendered Foam' I've heard it is something like 105 per sqm (rendered and installed Bordeaux 40 - considering Cosmopolitan and Clearwater facades Will finalise one of these two Cheers DARING2Build Any blogs that have 'many pictures' of Bordeaux 40 plz I found only one blog.. need more Are these facades on display? Maybe we can talk to the guys doing the rendering on the day to see if they can do it So what is the rendered foam?? Is it a substitute for infils above windows/garage? Is it the blue cement sheet.. because we had this installed then rendered over? I would also suggest you ask the renderers if they can do a little extra for you. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES General Information Thread 197Oct 22, 2009 9:07 pm anyone here opted for the laminated floors ? Carlisle sales rep told me that they don't do timber flooring, just laminates.. i got the free carpets and tiles promotion but i'm thinking of doing laminates all over (except bedrooms) if they are any good.. and still can't decide whether to go with laminated benchtops or caesarstone (i just find it $3300 too expensive for a 20mm stone) Oxford 22 @ Stage12a Point Cook Site Cut : 05/03/2010 Slab Pour : 24/03/2010 Frame Inspected : 06/04/2010 Pre-plaster Inspection: 22/04/2010 PCI: 16/07/2010 Final Inspection: 30/07/2010 Landscaping: who knows??? Yes it is true they dont do timber flooring. But the laminate flooring you see in the displays are the ones they supply.. look pretty good to me! I think its a bit extra $$ to do laminates if you have the promo. Get the caesarstone!! It will be well worth it, trust me!! It looks stunning and is extremely durable. We had laminex in the old house and would much prefer stone!! The bathrooms have laminex at the moment, we really wish we did stone all throughout. Seriously, you should take it! Re: The CARLISLE HOMES General Information Thread 199Oct 22, 2009 9:25 pm Sorry random post... just getting the thread to 200 posts!! Thanks to all you Carlislers for posting in this thread! 0 5283 We are at the stage on our build in Kilcoy, Queensland where we need to get our fencing installed but we cant get any contact details for our neighbours to give them… 0 6659 You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14764 |
