you're correct. You'll also have to pay water rates while vacant.
Yeah that's reasonable...unlike this big invoice which has come through as a surprise
Does it get worse once you build a house or gets better ?

Its been a really helpful resource while preparing for our build with Carlisle Homes. Our land was set to title in October however we got word last week that the entire estate is now delayed until Feb/March 2016. Has anyone else heard this? I got a call from Chris this week advising the same that the settlement is delayed from Nov to Feb next year due to council's skeleton staffing etc. We are also building with Carlisle and not sure what will happen as the contract says they charge 500 per month for delayed site start. which stage is that at? if there are developer delays then there is nothing that the builder can do to you - those penalties are more if you personally delay it for no reason. I agree -we just don't want any other delays to the town centre finally taking off - we've waited so long. for me and many others who have lived there for a while now - the promised dates keep getting pushed back. We're stage 36, they mentioned delay until latest Feb/March. We'll see. We just had our tender appointment with Carlisle and we asked them about the $500 fee, they agreed to hold off until Feb, but after then we will have to start paying the $500. Just a correction on the responsibility for the $500 fee's to what was mentioned above. Those fees are applicable to us and everyone else personally, it's not Carlisle's problem if Stockland delay the titling of the land. In the land contract they have 24 month to delay if they want to. Carlisle will just try and recoup some of the money they will lose if it's delayed past 12 months as they have their annual price increase during that time. In saying that, they are pretty lenient (thankfully). Interestingly we got an excuse that it had something to do with engineering reports delayed due to another estate (assuming gateway) being delayed or something. Would be good to find out the proper reason! Sorry for the delayed response, I don't tend to jump on here too often. Cheers.
