But I suppose we can settle for an intercom and peep hole. I love the look of the big pivot door, I'd hate to have a crappy screen door covering, unless it looks nice. But I'm yet to see a nice front screen door that would justify covering up the pivot! $395 Fixed Priced Landscape Plans for DA M: 0435 127 244 | W: bluegumdesign.com.au | E: info@bluegumdesign.com.au Residential | Commercial | Industrial Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 1682Aug 13, 2014 5:02 am Brahma Bull Yeah, we like screen doors purely for security. But I'm yet to see a nice front screen door that would justify covering up the pivot! Out of curiosity I asked ehi at clarendon for screen doors for the pivot door. I also think they look ugly. He showed us a "new" type if screen door which they build a wooden frame around the pivot door and it's completely see through yet strong. No frames in the middle like traditional screen doors. I was actually suprised by it. At 2k I nearly fainted. But I also love the thought of opening the front door everyday and letting the breeze flow through. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 1689Aug 13, 2014 9:49 am Hi Guys, I read in many thread about the variation after the DA and that troubles many of the buyer. would you please make me understand why this variation are coming ? I believe when you choose your builder it would give you final quote ( after your necessary change like tiles / light / color / any dimension change of floor plan according to your area of plot ) before you submit your DA to council. any one can help me in this. thanks in adv. We have signed our contract a few weeks ago and now preparing for our Colour Consultation in a week and a half. We are planning on building the Fairmont 35 as a KDR in Epping, NSW. I have been to the Colour Showroom but there is never anyone who will help you unless you are at your Colour Appt, particularly in regards to kitchens. I was wonder if anyone could give me some idea of kitchen stone bench top upgrades. We are going with Sapphire package but I am not keen on the 5 included colours options. How much does it cost to get a different colour? Also, has anyone considered Laminate flooring? We got a quote (at a fairly good price) but they need to leave a space between the wall and laminate then add beading on top. I wouldn't mind but it also has to go along kitchen and stone waterfall which sounds a bit ugly. Any ideas of how much more wood floors might cost? Thanks very much. With the flooring are u going with clarendon or after handover?? If it's after handover just ask clarendon to tack the skirting boards on then when u do ur flooring the company take them off then reattach them. This way u don't need the scotias that go ontop. I got quoted 21k by accent at clarendon for bamboo minus bedroom and theater. I got quoted 12k In bamboo for the same by an external company. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 1694Aug 13, 2014 12:51 pm I originally thought if it was 2k id do it with them for the sake of getting it done prior to handover. But every company I go to is at least 5k cheaper. Even accent carpets at a different location was cheaper.. I am afraid nothing can be changed now.
Hey ahaa, I think you are stressing for no reason as i think it's the same thing as what we are getting. As we are going with a white kitchen, ours was called Ultra Gloss White. In saying that, at one stage before we chose white, we were going to go with Black Wenge and I remember seeing the name as Black Wenge Gloss. I'm quite confident that if the word "gloss" is in your contract, you have nothing to worry about. Sheen is the other one that is not the same, not "gloss".
Thanks for reassuring:) Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 1699Aug 13, 2014 12:57 pm Dare2Dream Hi Everyone, I have been following this thread for a while and gaining so much information - it's great! We went there on a couple of Saturdays. The first time we went, there was a lady who was helping out people with their questions. She was actually at the displays and answering any queries. The second time we went, it was a different female and she just sat behind the reception desk all the time. Any questions directed at her were met with a "I dont know. You will have to check with your colour consultant" LaminateThere is always a gap left between wall and laminate to accomodate expansion and contraction. For this same reason, the beading is fixed to wall, not the laminate itself. You'd generally get beading along the waterfall as well. I dont think it will look ugly. Did you get quotes from external flooring shops as well ? There could be more colours and options than just Godfrey Hirst, which is what Accent push for laminate ! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 1700Aug 13, 2014 12:59 pm Hi Guys, We are getting the Flooring after Handover. They are saying the Tiling hieght after tiling from the slab will be 25mm as they are sanding and then laying the tiles. But Clarendon has a Standard of 28mm. So my the gap between the finished floor and the doors would be just 3mms. I got so worried and rang up the SS, he has asked the Carpenter to give a few more mms. Any ideas about this?
