We have had a couple if quotes so far with about $2k difference. We have just asked for a third quote. Just wondering for a 4x2+study+theatre+games room what you think would be reasonable amount to pay. Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1664Mar 25, 2013 10:34 pm Worth every cent I think, We/I have painted heaps of times and there is always something not 100%, others might not even see it but every time I walk into the room my eye goes straight to the point........Ah! Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1665Mar 25, 2013 10:40 pm We painted our old house before selling it and that was just a small 3 x 2 and you are so right you draw your eyes to the one spot. Our new house is double the size so no way are we going to paint this one. Nothing worse then a nice new house and a cramp paint job!! Just wondering for a 4x2+study+theatre+games room what you think would be reasonable amount to pay. We have the same size house, we had quotes from 3900 to almost 7. In the end we went with a quote from our painter with Redink because he can get in earlier and do the work, the quote was $4500. As you say peace of mind - and I cant be stuffed painting another house!! Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1669Mar 26, 2013 1:23 am Well we have never painted a house before so I think we have to do it so that next time we can say that hiring a painter is worth it lol ... im getting all matte paint and some walls ill do in texture or suede so I think it hides imperfections alot lol ... everyone can come and laugh at our paint job after while your house are looking immaculate :p Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1673Mar 26, 2013 9:36 am We havnt specifically been given a date our SS said PCI 3rd week of April and handover 10 days later ... but there's just alot of little things to ve fixed I hope it can all be done ... do u have a handover date yet ? Didnt you have an onsite meeting last week? Yeah I think weve got a meeting tuesday with the landscaper too ... he's calling me back today to confirm ... Yeah I was surprised that I didnt even have to ask people they were just like let us know when your ready to paint and well be there ... *score* Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1674Mar 26, 2013 9:46 am My partner likes to use the more expensive paints too. We won't be painting till after the 4 month inspection to ensure we can see any problems that may arise to report to the builder. I do t mind having the white plaster walls for a while. Then we will just do one room at a time. I'm no good with colour schemes. Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1675Mar 26, 2013 9:51 am Wow that's quick Mel. We had our tiler meeting last Thursday and was told 17th may and 10days after that, so early June. We won't to get painting and flooring done before we move in. I am meeting the landscaper at 10 so you will probably meet him before or after Don't worry Roadrage I am not good either with colour scheme just going for an all over neutral colour an then will take it from there Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1677Mar 26, 2013 10:08 am Oohhh theres an idea!! What are the more expensive paints? We have No idea about paints ... but my uncle is in the painting business ... so0o0o I think he can get us paint at trade price ... aldo have a brother in law who works for Dulux ... so if we decide to go with Dulux he might be abke to help us out too ... ive only just started to worry about painting and what colours we'll use ... but ive always been a grey lover so its safe to say the walls will be a shade of grey ... its just the ensuite thats throwing me off :s Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1679Mar 26, 2013 10:13 am Yeah smile its a bit too quick I think .. I just checked thw calender (because I have no idea what the date even is) and from what hes saying its only 3 weeks away for PCI ... I dont think thats going to happen!!! Hi, If you give a set of criteria as to what means 'good' to you, it'll give others prompts to respond. We considered Henley early on but there were two factors that… 1 12645 1 5069 1 2878 |
