We were going to move in with a bit of contingency for DH to buy a big A$s BBQ and other things. Thanks to my oversight with the blinds we will be moving on a $0 budget!! Re: Yanchep RedInk build: Countdown to PCI (12 - 19 Nov?) 1643Oct 30, 2015 12:01 pm Haha!! Don't hold your breath Malsannie!! 6 months down the track and there are still so many fund sucking jobs to be done!!! Congrats on potential PCI and planned trip to see your beautiful new home! It feels like it has gone so fast! Was thinking about you yesterday - i resealed our kitchen splashback grout with 'Grout Perfect.' If you remember i was unhappy about the coarseness and subsequent porosity of the white grout throughout the house. The splashback grout was grey within a month! Anyway, great product- you can get it in any colour you need and it may be just the thing for your dark tiles. Its like a paint with a sealant. Came up a treat and was an easy DIY job. Looking sensational. Hows the excitement factor??? Off the scale im guessing? Re: Yanchep RedInk build: Countdown to PCI (12 - 19 Nov?) 1648Nov 02, 2015 9:09 am Very excited yes looking forward to some pics on Wednesday when splashback and blinds are measured for Re: Yanchep RedInk build: Countdown to PCI (12 - 19 Nov?) 1649Nov 04, 2015 4:10 pm So - I'm having a bit of a nightmare / sleepless night because of our splashback measure. I'm so disappointed - apparently the walls aren't even so it may be a problem getting the splashback fitted. We'll reserve judgement to see how RedInk addresses this. Our CLO has been on it, but we'll have to see how they deal with this. After all it is how a business deals with fixing problems that matter in the end. I've not complained on here about specifics much as I prefer to give them a chance to fix it, so hopefully this time they'll do so again. There has been some things we've been less than impressed with so hopefully this isn't another one of those. Also the photos of splashback colours aren't brilliant so not sure how we'll choose one (out of the 5 taken there by the glass people!!), that is if we can have one at all. Turns out the samples taken to the house was on float glass. Apart from that... Pavers has been delivered Mirror robes installed Loos installed - tiling to be finished around them some taps installed, some not (bath tap and spout, and kitchen mixer still missing) outside shower still awol both tiling and taps Main bath shower enclosure installed, ensuite not Bathroom and ensuite niches not finished off yet Gas hob installed House powered up garage door has been measured for - there is a sticker that my parents saw I don't see any 'box' for the NBN - hopefully they didn't mess that up Door furniture installed - and the little bump thingies against the walls Recesses to the sides of fireplace still don't have floors to 1c. Anyway that is it for now - overall a very disappointing day so far and I just feel like crying I was so looking forward to seeing the colours and being able to choose one and to have it fitted, but now this too is going to be some form of a compromise. I should have been sleeping now, not sure how I'll survive the work day. It is our 20th anniversary today too - not how I wanted to start it!! Re: Yanchep RedInk build: Countdown to PCI (12 - 19 Nov?) 1650Nov 04, 2015 6:23 pm First of all Happy Anniversary! Secondly plan of action, wall to be fixed for splash back. Then mum, sister, trusted friend gets samples from glass place, gets access at a time you can Skype or whatever you use. You pick your beautiful splash back and there you go. They knew you were an overseas owner and it can be done. You will get there Mals. By the way loving your bathroom! You can't lose! Re: Yanchep RedInk build: Countdown to PCI (12 - 19 Nov?) 1652Nov 04, 2015 7:49 pm TraceyWayne First of all Happy Anniversary! Thank you - You're so sweet made me smile Thankfully they've agreed to fix the walls and we'll not need to add returns which I really didn't want as our bench is only 600mm deep while the walls on either side are around 750mm deep and I don't like it stopping in the middle of nowhere! Must say our CLO was wonderful as always - she got the area manager and SS and the glass people talking to each other to get a solution - what a star she is! Now we just have to decide on a colour - unfortunately it seems very difficult to get agreement re access etc and to be honest it may just delay things. They need 10 - 15 days to manufacture and fit and we're hoping for PCI soon so won't want to postpone the decision too long. I should have stayed up and done what you suggested but today was going to be a busy day at work so I went to bed earlier than usual instead - bad decision But - now that the main problem is sorted, I've decided to take the day as holiday I'd have been knackered at work anyway - yay! mandy+steve I really like the middle colour splashback but to be honest every single one of those colours would look great! You can't lose! Thanks mandy+steve - We are leaning towards the 3rd (blast grey 3) and 4th (blast grey 2) from the left - they're more neutral. It is a pity we can't see very well how the darker one relates to the french black bench which is much more grey than it looks in the photos! If they were close we'd probably choose that as it is one less colour and I'm a bit concerned about the different versions of grey and white we'll have in the kitchen! Although 3 would probably be safer, and then we could just paint the kitchen white rather than earth child which is a very light grey! Decisions decisions Re: Yanchep RedInk build: Countdown to PCI (12 - 19 Nov?) 1653Nov 04, 2015 8:18 pm So happy to hear that Mals and glad you had the day off on your anniversary whatever the reason Your choice will be great, I like the 3rd one but agree it's difficult from pictures.
