Looks great with your front facade. Damn about all the fencing but looking forward to seeing your pool go in, has your wife purchased the play gym from wa yet? If so is it good? Damn about all the fencing but looking forward to seeing your pool go in, has your wife purchased the play gym from wa yet? If so is it good? Thanks Tribe I have been watching your build it is looking great. Almost at the finish line. We are still months away from the cubby. We need to install the artificial lawn for the cubby first and can't do that until after all paving has been laid. Wish I could use a wand and have it all done in a flash.... I know what you mean about months away, just looking at the retaining we need to do and then lawns and pool means the play gym might have to be a Santa present. Wouldn't a wand be nice. I thought of a comment you made months ago when I paid our lock up invoice about the weed planted at the bank. Ouch!!! $110 per sqm. We decided against artificial turf for the front garden because of the cost. Ouch indeed! Re: Metricon Phoenix Adelaide - pics galore 1648Jul 22, 2015 8:33 am We are doing about 50 sqm in total. The picture is down one side of our house and the cubby is going there so only fake grass will look good. We are also using the artificial stuff to the front yard. Near the pool and the patio we will be using real turf. Having a big block of land is proving to cost a login landscaping. Next is boundary fence replacement, pool, finish stormwater, paving, front steps, grass then planting. Still months away from finishing. I was thinking of doing like a playground sort of thing and using bark but hubby hates bark as it blows everywhere so might have to take your idea. PS I love the aggregate concrete, the colour is fantastic. Were you happy with your contractor who did it? PS I love the aggregate concrete, the colour is fantastic. Were you happy with your contractor who did it? Yes we were happy with the concrete contractor. They will also be doing our front steps. The orange table and chairs was $99 from Mitre 10. It is a nice contrast with the black. We were also advised to use bark in the cubby area because it is softer for the kids. We said no thanks, we will take looks over safety. I can just imagine that I would be cleaning bark up every weekend. I much prefer the fake lawn at the added cost. Your plans sound fantastic. Lucky kids! They will have a massive backyard to run amok and the cubby is a wonderful addition. We under estimated how much landscaping was going to cost so we have deferred the pool until the bank recovers Re: Metricon Phoenix Adelaide - pics galore 1652Jul 22, 2015 1:38 pm Sheilzy What we need is a big fat money tree! What are your thoughts re the pool - concrete or fibreglass? If you are going to replace the fence and pay it all by yourself (which was what I did), still send in the Form2 to your neighbour and give them the 30 days. They can't kick a stink that you "didn't consult" them. http://boostaoakfordsa.wordpress.com Site works: 26/8/14 Trench: 2/9/14 Slab: 8/9/14 Frame: 18/9/14 Bricks: 24/10/14 2nd fix: 24/11/14 Handover: End Feb 2015 Re: Metricon Phoenix Adelaide - pics galore 1654Jul 22, 2015 2:40 pm Landscape plans seem to have taken a life of their own! Initially it was going to be basic turf and decking but it's now blown to a Japanese-inspired garden. I'm very excited to get started but our landscapers aren't available for a couple of months so no driveway and garden for us for a while yet. We prefer concrete over fibreglass for no other reason than we think it gives more flexibility with design and finish especially if you have limited space. We had a concrete pool in the last house and it was fully tiled so very minimal maintenance. Re: Metricon Phoenix Adelaide - pics galore 1655Jul 22, 2015 11:18 pm That looks fantastic Shambini! So funny: your looks after safety comment. That's the second time you said that, and this time relating to your kids Priceless! They will do it once then (hopefully) learn their lesson. My wife organised the curtains, blinds etc through The Decorating Bug. We were happy with the price, service and quality. Details are: The Decorating Bug 81 Unley Rd, Parkside SA 5063 (08) 8271 2866 www.decoratingbug.com.au/ BLOG: http://www.ourphoenix38.blogspot.com.au H1 THREAD: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70454 Re: Metricon Phoenix Adelaide - pics galore 1659Aug 09, 2015 9:52 am Finally had our driveway and other aggregate washed and sealed. We are really happy with the final result. New fences are being installed next week and the new pool in a few weeks!! Things move slow when you project manage yourself!!!
