Re: Metricon Phoenix Adelaide - pics galore 1602Jun 20, 2015 6:39 pm ![]() ![]() Let us know how your concrete goes Shambini. I've contacted three already and not one has replied! Do you think I'm asking too early? I'm just trying to get a handle on costs now and get everything lined up so its all done pretty quick once we have keys ... I have had the same issue tomcat, made about 6 enquiries, written with plans and only 1 has gotten back to me for concreting, so annoying, maybe it is a bit early but I also just want to know how much to allow for this.. If you find a decent one, let me know ![]() Sure. My husband is now insisting on doing it himself though ... I am still double minded... i really want the driveway done when we move hopefully before Xmas... but I don't want to damage the driveway when we do our gardens ![]() Metricon Glendale 38 - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75696&p=1298363#p1298363 Selections: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75696&start=60 Tiles - p25 Re: Metricon Phoenix Adelaide - pics galore 1606Jun 29, 2015 9:38 pm PS - how is it living in your new home ![]() Metricon Glendale 38 - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75696&p=1298363#p1298363 Selections: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75696&start=60 Tiles - p25 Re: Metricon Phoenix Adelaide - pics galore 1607Jun 30, 2015 6:13 am Look forward to it! As far as damaging driveway I think Shambini has very wide access! But yes in our last build with a light coloured exposed aggregate the clay stained it - and it stayed stained but just faded over the years.... Re: Metricon Phoenix Adelaide - pics galore 1608Jul 02, 2015 5:08 pm Our concrete is finally being poured tomorrow and Monday. You are right Bluesteel - we have a 4m clearance down one side of our house so no issues with damaging the driveway. I am glad that we held off with stormwater down the access side because it means we are not having to repair broken underground pipes. Re: Metricon Phoenix Adelaide - pics galore 1618Jul 06, 2015 10:20 pm What does that cost all up Shambini if you don't mind me asking? We got quoted $14K for our driveway, perimeter paving and a little extra down the side (not a lot more) to put a shed on. That was just plain black-as-black concrete. We were thinking of accepting until we just read the engineer's footing plan that advised us against solid concrete. Engineer suggests pavers or blocks ![]() Re: Metricon Phoenix Adelaide - pics galore 1619Jul 07, 2015 7:10 am I think most engineers will recommend pavers over concrete in reactive soil. Wont the control cuts help to manage the risk of cracking? We had 100 sqm poured so around $11k. Next nightmare now. We are a few weeks away from starting the pool and just found out that all boundary fences need to be replaced because they are less than 1.8m high!!!!
