Looks like they have done a lot already! Are you having render at the front? Maybe that's why they stopped the brickwork there? Re: Custom Dale Alcock in Wellard Village - Brickwork starte 164Mar 01, 2016 10:21 pm MrsMaccaPacca Congrats on brickwork! Looks like they have done a lot already! Are you having render at the front? Maybe that's why they stopped the brickwork there? We are having render at the front, but that will start just a little in front of where they stopped - however my husband knew exactly what it was all about, the meter box gets bricked into the outer bricks. I guess I hadn't really thought about it before, I think I thought it was kind of "stuck on" but after going outside and opening our meter box here, I get it - of course it sits into the brickwork!! He took a picture for me Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Robina Wow congratulations on your brickwork. It looks good. Better than your tree. So lucky to have started. Haha, yes it does! jelbell55 Congrats on your brickwork starting Thank you! kait-e Woohoo congratulations on your brick work We moved our verge tree as it was in the way of the driveway crossover. It didn't survive, you can see in our progress photos the tree slowly getting browner and browner... I fear this may accidentally happen to ours. So I didn't actually go down to the block today, but DH took a couple of photos - here are my kitchen splash back windows! There is also the laundry door visible and the alcove to the left of it is the rear of the garage. There is a roller door going to the side of it. Looking forward to seeing the garage brickwork going up to get a feel for it's size, hopefully tomorrow! Everything looks great Re: Custom Dale Alcock in Wellard Village - Brickwork comple 167Mar 13, 2016 7:15 pm I've had a really busy week and haven't had chance to update... and so much has happened! Our bricks finished on Wednesday 10th, that's a whole 10 days since starting. I took some morning tea and a carton of Heineken down last Saturday about 11 as they were finishing up for the first week. Really nice bunch of guys, half a dozen of them led by a couple of irishmen. They had Sunday and the public holiday Monday off, so it actually only took them 7.5 days of working to complete. They said our site supervisor was very quick at building houses, and we had our first meeting with him on Wednesday morning. Our man has been a site supervisor for 12 years, 6.5 for with Dales, he's a brickie by trade and has experience in some of the others. He was very complimentary about our brick team too - probably the best in Dale Alcock, he said - I'm inclined to agree. He usually has between 16-22 houses on the go at once, about 18 at the moment including two displays (the one in Wandi has just been finished and the one in Kwinana). So after finishing on Wednesday, our site was cleaned Thursday/Friday and our roof timbers will be deliver early this week. Roof Carpenter will be starting on Wednesday and all going to plan we'll have a roof by the end of March. He went through all the other stages from here and there are is a lot of cleaning done in between! We're really happy with the work done by the bricks and the great state the block is in ready for the roof stage. Here are some all important pics.. Re: Custom Dale Alcock in Wellard Village - Brickwork comple 169Mar 13, 2016 7:52 pm Looking good W2T!! Jealous you had a meeting with your site supervisor. We don't get to have a meeting with ours until tiling! Re: Custom Dale Alcock in Wellard Village - Brickwork comple 170Mar 13, 2016 8:47 pm Decka Great pictures, brickwork does look really good! Thanks Decka kait-e Looking good W2T!! Jealous you had a meeting with your site supervisor. We don't get to have a meeting with ours until tiling! Really? We were offered another once the roof is on, but we think we'll be right until tiling. With our work hours it is a bit of a pain to find a time at a civilised hour to meet with our man. Our CLO is pretty good at being the middle woman if we need him. One other thing I thought of which I was really impressed about from our bricks - they interlocked all our walls, rather than just using the red tie things. Each wall has 3 bricks that interlock into the perpendicular wall for strength. Re: Custom Dale Alcock in Wellard Village - Brickwork comple 177Mar 15, 2016 10:52 pm Thanks for your lovely comments everyone Our roof timbers were delivered today, chippie starts tomorrow. Our neighbours who's slab went down the week before ours, and the RedInk house down the road who's slab was a little after ours, both had their roof timbers started on Monday. The NewGen down the road have had theirs delivered too. It will be interesting to see whose roof is on first. Skip bin has been emptied again Look at all those lovely timbers - anyone know what the wide or the orange ones are for? I guess we will find out Obligatory progress shot from the front right corner (I'm going to put all these into a collage when we are done) Steel beams and fascia in Colorbond Night Sky More stuff Our Custom Dale Alcock build in the Village at Wellard https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78620 Re: Custom Dale Alcock in Wellard Village - Roof Timbers sta 178Mar 18, 2016 11:03 pm Roof timbers started yesterday, one day after planned but not an issue.
