My Hamptons build (completed): viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63370 Moved in Wednesday 11th Dec 2013 Front landscaping completed June 2016 Re: Our Half Acre Heaven- Slab is down 167Oct 09, 2013 11:23 pm Thanks Cinder, I hope so too. We met up with the SS who impressed us by taking about an hour with us on site to go over our plans and make notes, he already had a good knowledge of our plans and even picked up on something that had been missed by drafting.
I should have a slab pic soon GF!! The ones we have don't show the whole slab, didn't realise it at the time! Should have a better one to post when my darling gets back on saturday. Here's a pic of the little retaining wall we built around the shed/garage site. We used the ironstone on the block, I was shattered after a few days of crowbarring boondies out with a star picket and helping push the wheelbarrow full of rocks, I ended up on lighter duties, filling in the gaps with smaller stones. The garage pad will be poured tomorrow or Friday, weather permitting. Re: Our Half Acre Heaven- bricks delivered 169Oct 10, 2013 10:54 pm My Darling just told me the bricks have been delivered today and the Filtrex system is going in. I hope we don't need a rockbreaker... We have been blessed so far. The exciting news is that they have drawn out the measurements on the slab and are starting brickwork tomorrow! He has instructions to take lots of pics...! Re: Our Half Acre Heaven- bricks delivered 170Oct 10, 2013 11:11 pm Yay! Yay! Yay! So exciting! Let the 'real' journey begin Re: Our Half Acre Heaven- bricks delivered 174Oct 11, 2013 10:49 pm Thanks Kexkez, Sammi_O, AKB, Fmac & SB! I forgot to add that behind the "retaining wall" I made a garden bed and planted some petunias, and put in cosmos and... beetroot seed. Cos I could. I wanted to plant something on our land. I know it sounds an unusual mix, what can I say, I have eclectic tastes So DH tells me they are all holding their own and some of the cosmos and beetroot are showing already. Courtesy of all the rain I guess... The other first plantings on the eastern boundary (an apricot grevillea, two Eucalyptus sideroxylon Roseas) all have new growth and are doing well, the kangaroos have so much feed that they have left them alone. Good news all round Re: Our Half Acre Heaven- slab pics 177Oct 13, 2013 4:07 pm Wow look at the size of that pad! Are you going to post some plans on this thread <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=62083">viewtopic.php?t=62083</a><!-- l --> Re: Our Half Acre Heaven- slab pics 178Oct 13, 2013 4:38 pm AKB, many moons ago I posted them on another thread which I abandoned, so thanks for reminding me.
Here they are: We have downsized more than 20 squares from our previous build so I guess in our minds and by comparison the slab looks really small to us! It will be 'cozy'. We haven't actually seen it, this is our first experience of building from plans. We did view a slightly similar house in actual layout, but it was quite a bit larger again with a huge front window shaped kinda like the prow of a ship... Also we've opted to not attach a garage... and the 3rd bedroom is tv/computer/ or sometime possible extra guest room when needed (we will look for a modular lounge with a pullout QS bed). Re: Our Half Acre Heaven- slab pics 179Oct 13, 2013 4:46 pm I love the free form living room and clever having the TV room set a little but apart but also closer to the other bedrooms I can imagine that would be handy for when visitors come to stay (which I imagine will happen frequently when you live in that part of the world <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=62083">viewtopic.php?t=62083</a><!-- l --> Re: Our Half Acre Heaven- slab pics 180Oct 13, 2013 5:07 pm You guessed it, we already have "bookings" from friends not to mention the fam. What I like also about the plan is that when people stay they have a separate "wing" on the opposite side of the house. I also love the fact that there's no tv watching in the FFL. (Which is why people have theatre rooms I guess!) I don't watch too much tv, I prefer books or playing music. No ads in books!! of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them. I find it odd that lawyers wouldnt be willing to take on the case, given CCT evidence and… 1 24556 "Losers" "humanity" "off time" "your" "top notch" "love symbol" Sounds like ponzo is done using other people's toilets 36 25140 |
