I totally get that! Problem is that our estate is really small.... not many finished houses to hide behind, and our car kind of stands out - so no hiding for me! I'll just have to get braver I guess! Re: The Rocks Place - The Summit - Mt Barker SA 166Jul 11, 2011 6:45 pm Hi all, lovely to see you all having a chat DH & DD's have just gone to Karate so I'm home alone. Probably should be packing. I do tend to do a bit of baking and I not opposed to a little bribery. If it helps to get a good job I'll try anything (well not anything but you know what I mean). Got the keys to the rental today so DH and I went to see if it had been cleaned, as DH and DD2 went there on Sat to check the gas situation, have to have bottles in our estate. Well DD2 looked in the window and told DH that it was very dirty. DH got in contact with the agent and was told it had been cleaned. Well let me tell you if that is their idea of clean my idea and theirs is worlds apart. I don't consider saw dust in the cupboards, floors that you can see every foot mark in clean. I'm no clean freak and I certainly shouldn't have to clean it before I move in after all we are talking a brand new home. Still no action at the block yet, can't put any more energy in to worrying about that now it willl start when it starts. Re: The Rocks Place - The Summit - Mt Barker SA 167Jul 11, 2011 8:50 pm are you next door to me? Bit crap about the cleanliness...they probably just had the builder do their clean before handover and didn't go over it, slackers! Thought you were meant to start on the 5th? Same with our rental - brand new house and we had to clean all the muck off the floor and wall tiles and the doors were all covered in dust. I left the sandpaper and dust on top of the kitchen cupboards for someone else to do!! We weren't going to clean all the masking tape off the windows but we couldn't live with it so it's gone as well. When we leave it will be much cleaner than when we arrived For info on our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43093 Built the McLaren by Dechellis - slab down 22 Feb - handover 30 Aug 2011 - and gardens finished 9 Dec 2012!! Got a letter from the builder and expected handover is 24/1/12. So excited. Hey Lucene you pergola looks great. I will try to pop in soon and say hi. Noelz nice roof. Re: The Rocks Place - The Summit - Mt Barker SA - Trenches S 174Jul 19, 2011 9:10 pm Settlement on house tomorrow. Last visit today had a little cry. DD1 & DD2 say the rental is like a holiday home, so we are calling this our extened holiday. Re: The Rocks Place - The Summit - Mt Barker SA 175Jul 20, 2011 10:48 pm It might be slabbed on Friday - ours was trenched at the beginning of the week and slabbed on Friday of the same week. Maybe they will make up for lost time. I know what you mean about the cry - I was a bit sad leaving our old house for the last time - end of an era. Bigger and better things ahead!
