Good welby , I am also hoping they will be back at my place asap and finish the remaining stages as quickly as they did the slab/frame/brick. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 1543Nov 07, 2012 4:48 pm Good to hear so many builds are progressing well!! Kerith - that is soooo frustrating! Hoping you have some answers Friday. We had Sara as our CSA but were given a new person about a month ago... Still patiently waiting... Built a Hawthorne 31 with EB nessjeffdreamhouse.blogspot.com.au Building an investment now with New Living homes... We are at nearly finished... Just landscaping and driveway to go! Thought they were pretty standard... Our bank accepted them and also said they were the standard. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 1546Nov 07, 2012 10:58 pm Sorry guys.. been bit busy couldn’t post anything..our bricks are almost done.. Hi Baulkham Hills ,brick work looks good.. hard to see till the bricks get cleaned.. We pre wired for intercom ( 2 points) it cost $520.. Hopefully u can get a refund for the door bell.. Sorry to hear about the tree issue Kerith, i think Hornsby is a hard place to build a house if you have protected trees.. we got rid of few large ones, lucky they were not protected... Still got 2 huge gum trees at the front.. u asked about our plans. we didn’t want to make many changes. but ours doesn’t look anything like a Newport. I’ll post some photos on the weekend and let u know the story.... Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 1547Nov 08, 2012 7:52 am sohnaeo Just got email from SS that inspection will be just prior to the Christmas , they will take at least 6 weeks for the roof/guttering/downpipes/lower roof that is not fair. But be honest I was expecting they have 70% money in their bag, things will get slow definitely, I'll let you know what Independent Inspector says about the cracking lines. He has to inspect at the end as well so i will request him to note down the width of these cracks at frame inspection and make sure they don't expand when he has the final inspection. Look on the bright side. At least you will have lock up before Christmas and a roof on. By the looks of things I will only have brick work done and no roof. It means that I will have an exposed frame for 5 weeks over their break! I wonder how that affects the quality of the frames if they are left to the elements over 5 weeks? Also are you doing all the floor coverings yourself after handover? I'm just wondering as you said you will get independent inspector to check if your cracks have increased from lockup to final inspection. kc1205 Sorry guys.. been bit busy couldn’t post anything..our bricks are almost done.. Hi Baulkham Hills ,brick work looks good.. hard to see till the bricks get cleaned.. We pre wired for intercom ( 2 points) it cost $520.. Hopefully u can get a refund for the door bell.. Good to know that the bricks turned out good. Hopefully it means that the tradies that our SS brings in to do my bricks will treat my bricks with care. The last thing I want is to have an orange pock marked brick face when they are done bricking my house. Also we have decided not to have the intercom system. I was actually out numbered two to one on this (by partner and MIL) so looks like we will just stick with the door bell and use a chain lock as well. The whole reason why I wanted an intercom system in the first place is so that we can see who is at the front door (all our glass panels are glazed so people can't see in, but we can't see out either). Originally we were going to get a security door for the front, but as it is a larger than normal, stained door, the security door wouldn't look so good. Nothing is happening on my site at the moment. We went after work to take photos of the slab and the neighbour that built across the road from us came out onto her front step and waved hello to us! Her son was watering their newly laid grass on the front lawn and smiled and waved as well Nice to know that I will have nice neighbours when we move in. Their house went up really, really fast (less than 4 months from start to finish). Although they did have tradies that came in on weekends to do painting etc. They built with Rawson. Ie timing or amount? No we didn't. Didn't even think to negotiate on the progress payments. Kerith, hopefully you get a decision from your neighbours by tomorrow. I can't believe you have been stuck in DA approval for 2 months due to these trees! At least you will be able to move forward once they make their final decision. There is nothing worse than being stuck in limbo. I'm just wondering as you said you will get independent inspector to check if your cracks have increased from lockup to final inspection. Yes, that is the reason I want to have roof asap to make sure frame is protected from rain. I'll visit the site on weekend to see if there is anything happening after the brick work. Yes, we are doing ground floor tiling ourselves post handover so these cracks bit worried to me if these expand then tiles will have crack as well so I hope these are the shrinkage cracks and don't get wider. We had tender meeting on June 8, contract signing on July 26 and start of construction on 31st Oct. I think it really depends of who is in charge of your file to how quickly you progress. I have not been as lucky as you. I started in january, signed my tender in march and am still waiting for some building to start - I have not delayed anything but every piece of paperwork took weeks. eg the DA check took over 3 weeks. Dearheart , I had same time frames as you, started in January , had tender on 18th March and singed contract on 12 April , and my brick stage is just finished, strange you are still waiting to get on the site Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 1552Nov 08, 2012 4:45 pm Ours is still moving along Base Complete 17/08/2012 Frame Complete 31/08/2012 Brickwork Complete 27/09/2012 Lockup Complete 25/10/2012 Linings 5/11/2012 Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 1553Nov 08, 2012 4:49 pm Hopefully there quick with your building dearheart. Got my aircon ducting and roof unit fitted today, nilly everyday something has happened so i can't complain. Only problem i've noticed is the front of the slab in the garage, one side the bricks sick about 2 inches back from the edge and the other side overhangs about 2 inches. Pretty sure the slab isn't square. Building the Lawson with Eden Brae in Cameron Park Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 1554Nov 08, 2012 4:55 pm Livewildcard - any pics to update your blog...
