Certifier was meant to do his inspection yesterday but Masterton don't have the results yet. Our bank was also meant to do their own inspection today so they could release the final payment. So whatever happens, we're not far away now. Hope you get your handover date soon!! Good to hear that PCI went well and only the garage door was a major issue. The brickies started early Tuesday morning and worked until the downpour at lunchtime but to my amazement were back today. I thought they had to wait up to a week for the bricks to dry out, but perhaps because we are rendering it doesnt matter? The scaffolding is apparently getting delivered next Wed/Thurs ..ish. Wow a fernleigh 44! What did you add to the plans to make it that size? Sounds amazing! Would love to see some pics... Cheers ![]() Hi Topdeck - ditto with MrsRose - I am interested in your plans too. The Fernleigh 33C is what hooked us in to Masterton originally (now we are doing a Custom). EVERYONE - hello regulars!!! I have had a busy time recently, was keeping up with a few other threads, then realised today that I hadn't seen any notifications from this good old faithful Masterton thread. So I signed in and low and behold there has been HEAPS of posts but somehow I haven't had a notification for 6 weeks or more... Will try to make sure I check more regularly now. sabs1 - so excited to see such great progress! (Even though a little slower than Renee or BZMZ who has been flying along! I wonder if its because they are both building a Crystal???). Just went onto your blog. Any more photos? Now that I am back and things are getting back to normal, I am keen to take you up on your lovely offer ... will call / email you soon. We're building the Fernleigh which is only 36 weeks contracted build and the cs in the office said they're usually out long before 36 weeks... BUT, i just re-read our contract and it looks like the 36 weeks starts 20 days after being released to construction plus there's a 5 week xmas shut down allowance... so 4 weeks from being release to contruction for contract period start + 36 build + 5 weeks xmas = 45 weeks! Alas we are booked up most weekends in October (particuarly with impending move! yay!) but will try to wiggle a few things around to see if we can make it. Would be wonderful to meet everyone!! DRAM, you can't be far behind us now. Just keep at them. The Final Accounts letter said we can organise settlement after our final site inspection. We rang our SS to find out when that would be and he said, oh, you want another inspection? We managed to organise it fairly quickly and got our keys the afternoon of the same day but I wonder if we'd still have been waiting if we didn't make that call! sabs1, congrats on your bricks!! Now that you have brickies they should power through! Just on the discussion with timing: for our build they claimed 17 days over Christmas (though tried for the full 5 weeks so do push hard if you don't think that's reasonable and if they actually did work during that period) and 6 rain days so we added those onto our 32 weeks. By our calculations, the last day was meant to be next Wednesday, so they JUST made it! ![]() Masterton Santorini Grande 23/01/09 First Tender 17/11/09 Contract signed 25/01/10 Slab 27/03/10 Frame 7/5/10 Bricks 1/07/10 Roof 9/7/10 Lock up 24/8/10 PCI 16/09/2010 KEYS! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=16418 Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 1539Sep 18, 2010 1:04 pm Has anyone had the grout on their floor tiles sealed?
