Great news braddy...pics for updates...We love pics update http://buildingourhumblehome.blogspot.com buildingourhumblehome.blogspot.com.au Re: Who is building with Beechwood 15183Jun 09, 2017 5:54 pm Some days I feel like it's 2 steps forward and 1 step backwards. When they put the roof on they had to order 2 bits of barge board as it was no good. With all the rain over the last few days it appears that the rain is getting in between the wall and gyprock. It was only meant to be a few days before the new barge it's now been 3-4 weeks now.. Paint was meant to start in the terrazza nearly 2 weeks ago and now meant to start Tuesday however that's not going to happen as the gyprock guys haven't been back to sand there mistakes. Tiles were meant to start nearly 2 weeks ago but the waterproofing hasn't been finished as they are waiting for one of the bathrooms to be ground and repaired on the floor. They have invoiced for fix out and it's not even completed. They won't be getting paid till they finish that's for sure... Just when things were looking like moving forward we feel we going backwards. The painter ended up sanding the walls. He's done all of the terrazza so the scaffolding can finally come down. 4 1/2 pallets of tiles turned up as well. Looks like progress is back hopefully the roof and the waterproofing is fixed soon hopefully will get some pictures tomorrow in the light Re: Who is building with Beechwood 15190Jun 13, 2017 6:14 pm Tom2016 Was surprised to see the painter even though the walls were not sanded. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 15192Jun 14, 2017 12:37 am themamaminute After months and months of waiting for our land to be registered, we are finally at Colours appointment stage! Wooohooo! Reading through the forum now for last minute pointers. Gonna need lots of coffee tomorrow. If you have any "ABSOLUTELY DO NOT FORGETS" let me know! Congratulations themamaminute! Which stage are you building? Who is your builder? Just arm yourself with all your choices (print them if you have to) so you don't forget ... have a theme so there's harmony in your colours...stick to your budget and don't get carried away with all those lovely extras as tempting as it may be ... certain things like downlights or tapwares can done or changed after handover so try to stick to standard for the time being then change later as builders can charge as much as 30% markup... certain things like powerpoint on the backsplash or island bench might better off for your builder to do that than after because it's hard to replace a broken splashback or that it will be a difficult job than later on... That's done of the things that I think of...Hope that helps http://buildingourhumblehome.blogspot.com buildingourhumblehome.blogspot.com.au Re: Who is building with Beechwood 15193Jun 14, 2017 12:39 am Sorry...ignore the two question. I thought you're in my other forum lol http://buildingourhumblehome.blogspot.com buildingourhumblehome.blogspot.com.au Re: Who is building with Beechwood 15194Jun 14, 2017 7:52 am themamaminute After months and months of waiting for our land to be registered, we are finally at Colours appointment stage! Electrical... make sure you get it right but don't do it with Beechwood as they charge an arm and a leg. A few posts back I have posted electrical prices we got charged directly by southwest electrical. It's far easier and cheaper to sort it out when you have an electrical appointment. Upselling.. they try to make a few extra $$ at colours as Tap said they add 33% so keep that in mind for anything you want to do.. yes it might be easier but will be cheaper after the event. Contract make sure you read your contract so you know the terms and conditions of your build as well as anything you need to do. Our colour appointment was fantastic Leanne from the south coast office was great showed us a few different things and was fairly quick 2hrs. It will give you an itemised list of everything you need and how much it'll be. We designed ours with drawers, long hanging, short hanging, shelves and more. Our wardrobe is 3000mm and our fitout is just over$1000. No idea about the driveway question, but your price for a house that size including landscaping seems very good! 1 22277 No, not yet. It’s currently being assessed by our building surveyor 4 19523 With that sort of soil type if you ask for a design to include piers then I would also include void formers. That way you should reduce the chances of settlement and heave. 7 20003 |
