I am getting Independent Inspector at lock up so would get more clear picture. I will bring this up at the contract appointment this friday and see what they say. We have heavy stuff we want to hang too! Someone else in this group got extra noggins for free. My interior decorator wanted noggins on 2/3 of the walls so EBH estimating offered to put them in every wall for about $500. I was not going to argue it for ease of hanging/not having to buy extra product to hang etc. Sohnaeo - Sorry, can't help you with that. I will be relying on all my inspectors to pick up things. As per someone else's advice on here, we are raising a PCV to have REALLY independent inspectors on site - an extra $500 x 2 or 3 is worth it for peace of mind. How did that affect your bricking? I think I will take HoudaMan advice and invest in a level with long straight edge. I will probably look weird me going around checking that the floor is level though.... BH - Sorry I should say that the 5mm out is a good thing, its very minimal, hence rare to see such a good job with the slab being poured. The brickwork upon completion looks amazing and looks completely straight... sorry for the confusion. _________________ Building with EBH - Saville 30 @ The Ponds Building Blog - http://rabsndee.blogspot.com 22/08 - Slab Done 07/09 - Frames 16/09 - Roof 02/10 - Bricks 26/10 - Lockup 17/01 - Settlement Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 1484Oct 31, 2012 11:33 am Guys went to the house yesterday and they have completed installing the doors and architraves. I also saw they had installed our cabinetry and completed the water proofing in the bathrooms and laundry I'll see if I can upload some pictures later today. _________________ Building with EBH - Saville 30 @ The Ponds Building Blog - http://rabsndee.blogspot.com 22/08 - Slab Done 07/09 - Frames 16/09 - Roof 02/10 - Bricks 26/10 - Lockup 17/01 - Settlement Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 1485Oct 31, 2012 7:08 pm Hi all, Our site start appointment has been booked for next Friday, Yay! finally we will be out of the Admin Stage =) Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 1486Oct 31, 2012 8:03 pm Yeah Foxley!!! I am waiting for brickies to come back and start first floor bricks, I was told they are supposed to come back tomorrow. I think EB do the roof first and then bricks for the single stories while it is vice-versa for double stories. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 1490Nov 01, 2012 8:02 am Welby, I love the photos that you've posted. House looks great so far. You must be super excited that you will be at lock up stage soon. rabsta, I've seen photos of your house as well. I love your brick colour. We've gone with a dark brick colour as well. It looks so nice with the off white mortar. sohnaeo, hopefully Howard can give you an idea of how big the issue is when he comes to do his independent inspection. Please let us know what he thinks as I am sure some of us will have the same issues with hair line cracks in our slab. Kerith, thanks for the welcome. Foxely and 1sttime: Hopefully you guys get to the building stage soon. It didn't take Eden Brae too long (about 7 working days) from the completion of admin stage to them leveling out our block. As for us, we swung by our block yesterday and they were in the process of pouring the slab and leveling it out. Our SS emailed us a time table last night saying that the slab stage was complete and that frames should be up around the 15th Nov. Just finished our 2nd colour appointment this week. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 1495Nov 02, 2012 10:38 pm Welcome sam35. How did your appointment go? What colours have you chosen? We had our appointment on October 22nd. It went pretty well but have since changed our minds on a couple of things. Did you make many upgrades? Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 1496Nov 02, 2012 11:27 pm Disappointed tonight, EB rang today and looks like we won't be starting until mid December. No guarantee they will do there best to make sure we start before their 5 week shut down for Christmas ... Think I should just start saying the slab will be down in February... Just finished our 2nd colour appointment this week. Welcome sam 35 Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 1500Nov 03, 2012 8:50 am Thanks Kimmid. I love all the tips and clues for what to watch out for on here. Those colour appointments are so overwhelming. We built the house we are currently in 6 years ago with Allworth. It took us about 2 hours to complete colours, etc. We were not ready for the 2 full days with Eden Brae. The brick colour we have chosen is gravel with an off white mortar. Horizon roof tiles in Barramundi. Gutter is monument. Stone Beige for windows. Paperbark for garage doors, down pipes, etc. For the render we are having two colours. Paperbark behind and deerskin to the front. Walnut for the entry door. UPGRADES - mmmmmm.....everything seems to need upgrading. Kitchen is upgraded, staircase, electrical, bathroom taps etc - minor upgrades. Carpet underlay is also upgraded. We also wanted higher tiler in the bathrooms. I built with EB back on 2009.
