Plantation shutters page 6 1485Jun 03, 2011 9:23 am Erin, you're costing me money - I'm going to have to have shutters for the three windows in the home theatre now - can't even think about venetians!!! For info on our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43093 Built the McLaren by Dechellis - slab down 22 Feb - handover 30 Aug 2011 - and gardens finished 9 Dec 2012!! Re: A & E's place. Plantation shutters page 6 1486Jun 03, 2011 9:56 am I actually quite like those ones (I'm not a lover of plantations). They're one of the few I've seen that don't look... obtrusive. They look a lot more like they belong there. Tis noice ... btw have you seriously been there 11 months already? :O Land Deposit - 18/12/2009 Became a land Baron - 21/12/2010 Site Start - 27/1/2011 All moved in!! Re: A & E's place. Plantation shutters page 6 1487Jun 03, 2011 1:38 pm Geee so nice and classy Erin. Was worth the wait I say! Re: A & E's place. Plantation shutters page 6 1488Jun 03, 2011 2:31 pm Thanks guys We're super happy with them. We knew they'd make a bold statement in the room. I think it helps balance the room out too. As there's the dark IKEA Billy book cases in the corner, the chocolate couches, dark walnut flooring. Now that side of the room has the dark shutters. The 3 windows in a row are awning windows, which is why we had the frame built out. I love them I have two painting we bought in Cambodia... here (I've taken a pic, aren't I good ) http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/librarypaintingsDSC_0170.jpg and these will go above this couch. http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/librarypaintingsDSC_0171.jpg Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I'm searching online for the perfect custom frames. Looking for frames to be made in the same width as the blades on the shutters, and a similar colour. So around 80mm thick. I've found one site that I like... will update you on this later down the track Re: A & E's place. Plantation shutters page 6 1489Jun 03, 2011 2:56 pm Those prints are great!!! Plantation shutters page 6 1493Jun 03, 2011 9:11 pm Just to comment on your shutters again, the totally awesome thing about them to me is the light pattern they throw on the adjacent wall. That looks sooooo cool. if you are having trouble getting a custom made frame that matches the shutters, is it out of the question to get another (smaller) shutter, disassemble it and make a frame out of it?
