I hate it when life gets in the way of checking out the house. Re: okjorg's build 1444Dec 15, 2012 8:47 am The builder started the stumps yesterday and will finish them on Monday!! Now in the New Year, it can rain all it wants and we won't get held up Deliveries are expected for a January 8th start. I NEED YOUR INPUT!!!!!! The engineer did not leave enough room in the fourth bedroom for a decent sized sliding door (which leads out onto deck 4) Now we have to decide whether we have a tiny sliding door with a tiny 600mm opening to walk through???? Or do we put something else there?? The options we have are as follows: * a french door ( which takes up room inside to have the doors open as well as room on the deck to allow the screen to open) * a wall * a window * a window with louvres... My main concern is security screens.... I need the whole house to have security and insect screens..... what should I have there keeping in mind it is the south east corner... so that is where most of the weather will be coming from.... ~ okjorg viewtopic.php?f=31&t=55196&p=844089#p844089 Settlement date - 13 Jan Final plans - 24 Sept Council approval - 21 Oct First peg in the ground - 7 Nov Re: okjorg's build 1448Dec 17, 2012 11:22 pm Hey okjorg! It's coming along fantastically! I'm jealous actually, I want to do it again. Is it possible you can move the left hand wall of the dining room in (i.e. take space off the dining room and give it to the deck), so you can fit the sliding door in? Re: okjorg's build 1449Dec 18, 2012 7:15 am Why not just have a normal double glazed glass door which can open against the wall of bed 4-which allows a normal security door there? Or Ditch accessing the deck from bed 4, put in a window and only access the deck from the dining? I think I would prefer a single glass door rather than moving any walls.. So long as I can have my security screens with it.... I think it should be fine.. Are there any draw backs to having a swinging in door?? (apart from the fact that I will lose space on the deck for the swinging out security screen) ~ okjorg viewtopic.php?f=31&t=55196&p=844089#p844089 Settlement date - 13 Jan Final plans - 24 Sept Council approval - 21 Oct First peg in the ground - 7 Nov Re: okjorg's build 1451Jan 04, 2013 2:33 pm Four more days until our builder get's underway!!!!! We are very proud of our plans I have told the builder I would like a double glazed, tinted, glass, aluminium framed door for the guest bedroom. I don't really like louvres... but I did really wanted to try to get a separate door onto the little deck for the spare room. The builder is still waiting for some suppliers to start up again for the new year... but I am trying to be patient. Which is SO HARD...... It is all I talk about and I am totally excited!!!! I can't wait to see them really get into it!!!!!
