We're going down tomorrow arvo to have a look and come up with a plan for the design. I really like the idea of doing a bluestone paver. This one.. where there's no retaining on either side, the land just slopes alongside the path (obviously mine will be much smaller XD) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Or this option, have retaining on one side of the path, and have the other side just slope down.. have thought about doing this, as the other side is only 46cm wide, and will have garden bed. Again my version would be much smaller, I want to avoid split leveling my front lawn. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Another one quite similar... Can do the same thing with retaining on both sides of the steps. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The other style again... so steps above the ground level, and ground slopes down, with no retaining walls... I am leaning towards this look. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is how I want to pave my porch.. not sure how they raised the height above the slab. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I really like the first and fourth ones without the retaining walls. Bluestone will look great with you external colours. I'm thinking of getting something like this for my front path but straight not staggered. I would like that, but in pavers rather than wood.. and yeah straight not staggered. The only thing for me is my front fence is going to be retaining on the left side... so won't slope like that. Will find out more tomorrow and come up with a plan Re: {dawn} SE Melb Build - Front fence :D 1426Jun 16, 2017 9:16 pm Haha, Ba and Panda are good, and yup I also have Vivi and Cassidy. Its going quite well. Cassidy hated Panda when I brought her home and wouldn't even stay in a room with her, now they are curled up together on the couch and they play all the time. I'm so glad they are getting along. And with the bunnies, you usually have to bond them, which can take weeks (they chase/bite each other) but Vivi and Ba just basically fell in love at first sight, and they are very happy together. So it seems like everyone is quite settled and will be okay together when we move Re: {dawn} SE Melb Build - Front fence 😄 1429Jun 16, 2017 10:02 pm Love hearing when pets Bond. My only concern is, because dad wants a gate, and so I need 1m clearance for it to swing backwards.. so might need retaining for that bit. Going to see the house today DD Re: {dawn} SE Melb Build - Front fence :D 1433Jun 17, 2017 1:05 pm Oh no! Got to the house to find poor little bird trapped inside, no idea how he got in there or how long he'd been there. Ran around checking all the doors, all locked.... called the builder, left message, sent him text asking how can I get in? a. POOR BIRD (kept flying into the windows) b. OMG he's gonna destroy my house and poop everywhere.. and if he dies.. BAD MOJO Luckily, on the second try the laundry sliding door was unlocked and I got in, and was able to rescue the bird. He flew away very happy. Although on another note.. OMG WHY IS THE DOOR UNLOCKED!!! Got a sneak peak through the inside of the house though which I wasn't expecting.. DDD We locked it up when we left and turned off all the lights that had been left on ;-; Photos to come Re: {dawn} SE Melb Build - Front fence :D 1436Jun 17, 2017 4:40 pm Photos as promised D As I got to sneak in, I got some better ones of the lights.

I'm not sure this the style I wanted when I upgraded... but I don't HATE them. Not sure why they put them in before they paint them?? Intended to look at them more but got distracted. I think the colour is okay, its more grey in person then in the photo. Glad I didn't go with a white blind, I think this breaks the room up a little. Will be interesting to see with the chocolate carpet. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Sheers in the bedroom (blockout over the top). I think it looks okay. I think we've decided on three long steps.. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ D In summary... I think the blinds turned out okay. The sheer in the bedroom crashes into the window winder.. but I suppose I'll survive. Otherwise seems like they did a good job. I did a check of the bricks today, overall seems good.. no issues that I saw (Except the front posts, but they are being rendered). Unfortunately still seems like there's a lot to do... especially in terms of fixing things, lots of marks in paint, things to be cleaned, couple of holes in the walls.. and the cabinetry in the kitchen has a few problems. To do list: Carpet Finish front fence Render house Finish concreting Appliances HWS Air Con Alarm System TV antenna/toilet roll holders, etc. Defects And general clean... and getting all that dirt out of the backyard...just so much to do!! Seems impossible to finish.. though I know they will one day.
