Welcome to the thread.....Dont know about you but I've gone through all 70 pages on this thread. Another helpful thread Porter Davis Upgrade Cost - Thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=54817&hilit=porter+davis+upgrade+cost Things you Forgot - Thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=5823 Re: Building a Waldorf by Porter Davis 1402Jan 27, 2014 1:37 pm sassid Hi everyone. First time forum user - glad to have found this. I am building the Waldorf and found this thread in my quest to make sure I have everything right before we go past the tender stage. Going to take me a while to go back through this thread! Have had my tender appointment but going to need a do-over - too many changes still in limbo! Big Question - should I start at the start of the thread or work my way back through the 70 pages? You could read the entire thread... or... you could just ask the questions that you want answered. It would be awesome if you could put the cost of your upgrades into the PD Upgrades and Costs topic because up-to-date prices really help everyone... viewtopic.php?f=31&t=54817&hilit=porter+davis+upgrade+cost Re: Building a Waldorf by Porter Davis 1403Jan 27, 2014 2:42 pm thanks tlblhayward and Filthyfil! sassid ...building the Emporio with MainVue/Henley BLOG: http://thewaldorfproject.blogspot.com.au/ HOMEONE THREAD : https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75753 Re: Building a Waldorf by Porter Davis 1404Jan 27, 2014 4:10 pm Excuse the poor photoshop effort. What do you think? Garage door opening remains same size, just window added. Are you sure that the triangle part on top of the Garage will move? 2. Have PD let you put the window in the Garage? Re: Building a Waldorf by Porter Davis 1406Jan 27, 2014 5:04 pm Hey Tiblhayward Yeah I'm not sure about the triangle thing if it'll move or stay in centre.....will know more at Tender on Thursday And yes, window is part of garage extension to follow estate guidelines. Apparently I can't have too much brickwork, so PD suggested that I put a window there to resolve the issue. If 3k, Is it worth it? Also, the next question is with all the ducts / pipes locate between floors as well (heat & cooling) , how well the insulation will works........ Re: Building a Waldorf by Porter Davis 1409Jan 29, 2014 10:33 am Hi Guys We plan to have a double hinge door @ the back of garage as well as a internal garage door May I check whether the door open direction seems reasonable? Or , they need be opened in another direction (if so, any reason for that?) The only question you may ask your consultant is, if double door for Door 2 will have enough room to open when 2 cars are parked in. Can anyone confirm me what is the cost : 1. Per additional LED downlight 2. LED downlight in lieu of existing standard light batten? Thanks Blog @ The Desire Re: Building a Waldorf by Porter Davis 1412Jan 29, 2014 11:47 am d3s1re Hi Guys, I'm preparing myself for electrical appointment and have a question regarding LED downlights. Can anyone confirm me what is the cost : 1. Per additional LED downlight 2. LED downlight in lieu of existing standard light batten? Thanks Hi D that is what we been quote 1. Per additional LED downlight - $130/ea 2. LED downlight in lieu of existing standard light batten? - $90/ea Re: Building a Waldorf by Porter Davis 1413Jan 29, 2014 11:53 am
Hi Scott, Doors seems to be perfectly fine. The only question you may ask your consultant is, if double door for Door 2 will have enough room to open when 2 cars are parked in. Cheers
Hi D In postion 2, we will only have 1 door to access to house. But I get your point - the car space maybe impact due to the door open to Garage. @ Position 1, I will make the 2 hinge door open towards outside. @ position 2 , whether I should consider open the door towards Entry hall like below ? http://i985.photobucket.com/albums/ae337/scott-2233/Garagedooropen2_zps9de5d0ab.jpg Re: Building a Waldorf by Porter Davis 1414Jan 29, 2014 12:01 pm Hi Scott, I have the standard plan for garage with single door. Correct me if I understood it wrong, that you are upgrading your Door 2 with double door as well. If it is a single door it should be fine opening inwards in garage itself. Only thing you might check is the dimensions with double door for Door 2 when opening inside so that the left half of the door shouldn't be an issue for the cars parked inside Cheers Blog @ The Desire Re: Building a Waldorf by Porter Davis 1415Jan 29, 2014 12:07 pm With this option you might be blocking your pdr room entrance at times. Hi D We are initially building Waldorf but building the Brooklyn now so, it won't be a issue to us Oh ok, My bad as I assumed you will be doing Waldorf due to the Thread. Yeah then inwards should be good option for you I guess. Blog @ The Desire Re: Building a Waldorf by Porter Davis 1420Jan 29, 2014 12:34 pm I extended the garage by 1m and PD charged me $650 in install a roller door. Best thing I did as access to the back & side of the house is easy. I can even drive a car thru the roller door and wash it at the back (my block is 23m wide). Three options 1 Ask the liquidator 2 Find another PD customer and ask the source of their report 3 Pay for new report 3 14029 Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed.
