Looks like we will be starting around the same time It's so very exciting and a huge relief to know it's actually happening now. Can't wait to see your site start, have they given you an actual date or is it just pot luck you drive by and see it happen? Our csc arranged with our ss to let me know when the site cut is so I can take our 18 month old and 3 year old to see the earth works (the boys are digger obsessed) ![]() Re: Metricon - Housing the Tribe, Gold Coast 143Apr 25, 2015 7:28 am Tribe7 agf18Awesome news! I just found out that they mixed us up with another block in same street and the original dates we got were for that build argh! Site supervisor finally rang me yesterday and introduced himself and said they hope to start Wednesday next week Re: Metricon - Housing the Tribe, Gold Coast 144Apr 25, 2015 9:09 am They sure will, it will be a struggle to make them come home. Oh gee that's not overly helpful, no wonder nothing has happened on site. Great news that it's going to all start on Wednesday, looking forward to the pics ![]() Re: Metricon - Housing the Tribe, Gold Coast 145Apr 25, 2015 9:19 am Tribe7Great news. Any news on your certifications livpal? Hope you can start soon too. No apparently we are waiting on ARC approval which annoys me so much because i thought we already had ARC approval. Feeling super frustrated and start to losing faith it will be ready for December. We sent an email to the csc and she said our admin guy is away but will follow up on monday. So on his time we will add another week because he is so slow. Thought we may be past the admin stage. Grrrr. As you can see im feeling pretty angry atm. But super happy for u. Yay Re: Metricon - Housing the Tribe, Gold Coast 146Apr 25, 2015 11:08 am Woohoooo tribe, this is great news!! Wish we had a 22 week build as well! Yay Oh crap livpal I was of the same train of thought that everything had been almost completed. A polite email every single day from now on to your admin guy cant hurt he obviously is happy to cruise along which isn't helping you at all. I know how you feel it was the same with our land, we paid our deposit in July and waited 9 long damn months for settlement. Re: Metricon - Housing the Tribe, Gold Coast 148Apr 25, 2015 11:51 am monalisaWoohoooo tribe, this is great news!! Wish we had a 22 week build as well! Hopefully we aren't far behind now with ours Your so close monalisa, from final drawings it took just under 2 weeks to be given a site start and completely finished the admin phase. I'm not sure if NSW are the same but it won't take long. The 22 weeks is really good for us we have completely out grown our house and I NEED to get baby out of our room and into her own. Re: Metricon - Housing the Tribe, Gold Coast 150Apr 25, 2015 7:44 pm I've finally caught up... Yay for Thursday!! Exciting Re: Metricon - Housing the Tribe, Gold Coast 151Apr 25, 2015 7:51 pm Thanks tribe7 My hubby is so worried about bugging them too much. Think i may be able to convince him to send them another email on monday. :/ Don't be worried it's his job, you have been in the admin phase for quite a while now, time your admin man pulls his finger out of his bum and completes your file for construction. Re: Metricon - Housing the Tribe, Gold Coast 153Apr 25, 2015 8:26 pm OH Just noticed your using the Vintage Soaped Oak floor. I LOVE that floor cant wait to see that go down. That was the one we selected with that "other" builder lol. Plus they'd give you a 12 week build time because they would be too scared to cross her!! She's been inspirational through our planning phase. I'm a lucky man... Cheers Mr Tribe. Good on you mrs tribe keep up the good work. ![]() If your skills fall to communicating and planning take the job and run with it, I've learnt so much through our land development and have spoken to so many different people from town planners to electrical engineers, hydrologic engineers, developers, council management and certifiers to nbn co (we had our nbn Pitt located in our driveway cross over and I needed to obtain the legislative location requirements and give them to the developer to move to a new location I selected) the amount of time I spent chasing information has been crazy but has also benefited us greatly, everything was for Metricon to give them all the required info to get to site. Our latest drama is we have no power!! All the green power boxes have been installed at each lot but not connected?? I spoke to the developer who was rather detached from the situation but I obtained the electrical engineers name so I contacted him directly he was extremely helpful and informed me that the constructed pad for the estate is waiting on energex certification and once granted the transformer can be installed and the hv switching application will be lodged at the same time with all works completed within 3 weeks. The engineer was kind enough to call me Thursday to let me know the approvals had been granted and works are commencing and the developer emailed me the same information Friday (I think he knows I'll chase him up so he just updates me when he knows) I was very worried about going to site without having clarity on power what would happen when we got to framing stage and power is required??? A generator bill!! Hell no. Thank goodness I followed it up as now our build will fall into line with the power connection. Metricon, Gold Coast 160Apr 29, 2015 8:33 pm We went for a visit to our block and our digger obsessed 3 year old decided he must start our site cut.
He was so thrilled when the big boys arrived to finish what he started. Our 4 Forman watched over the site cut and all agreed they would have to come back tomorrow to see the end result ![]() |
