No wonder you're tired with twins - I've heard they can be a handful... one of my girlfriends is pregnant with twin boys at the moment, has a 2yo boy already... she was debating having a second bub and then when she went ahead and fell pregnant found out that she was having no 2 & 3!!! ![]() ![]() I'm so glad that things are finally moving forward for you! I *l o v e* your horizontal Laminex Fudge Stream. I haven't posted our internal colours yet, but we've also selected something similar (Polytec Ash Zebrano) ~ has a similar distinctive 'grain' or 'stripe' to it... So it's lovely to see yours 'in the flesh' (so to speak). Will be great to see it all put together. ~ cheers, J _______________________________________________________________ We're a knockdown | rebuild ~ Melb SE burbs Building modified version of the Fairhaven Glenaire Homeone thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=28429 _______________________________________________________________ Re: C&T Rose - Kitchen delivered!! 145Mar 08, 2010 6:40 pm I think it looks great!! I think if the lines were all matched up it might look a bit too fake. To me this looks more realistic. Lovely colour! It seems the house is growing in front our eyes! Just a quick question ~ did you have any overlooking issues you had to comply with due to building in an established area? I'm thinking particularly of the bedrooms 3 and 4 you have on the garage side of the first story, which have windows to the side instead of the back. (Apologies if you have already posted this!) How wonderful to have such friendly neighbours from day one, even before the build started. ~ take care (hope you have your feet up!!), cheers, J _______________________________________________________________ We're a knockdown | rebuild ~ Melb SE burbs Building modified version of the Fairhaven Glenaire Homeone thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=28429 _______________________________________________________________ Re: C&T Rose - Kitchen delivered!! now with pics 152Mar 11, 2010 3:15 pm Thanks everyone! Apologies for the delay in response, I hadn't realised that anyone had commented on my pictures... I either missed the notification or didn't get it... Oh well! I refuse to use the excuse of 'baby brain' I'd rather blame it on technology!!! I'm glad that people think the fudge stream looks acceptable - its a relief, I was worried that everyone would think it looks odd. It definitely won't look as good as Suh's (which of course is where I got the idea) but its at least a room where I've done something different!. I see everyone else's selections and feel a little timid in my choices but I'm sure it'll be just fine. I can't wait to see it all together, tiles, vanities, tops etc the tough choice approaching is the kitchen splashback. We deleted the tiling allowance from the builder as I was umming and ah-ing over glass or tiles and then choosing a colour was just beyond me. I've decided that I'll wait until I see the kitchen in the flesh before attempting to make a decision.... be sure I'll be posting in the kitchen section looking for advice! Hi Vanilla Tree, we didn't end up with any issues of overlooking with the bedrooms or the upstairs lounge as they are greater than 3m from the boundary. As we went through complying development there wasn't an opportunity for the neighbours to object. ![]() Never argue with an idiot they drag you down to their level & then beat you with experience - Dilbert View Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=19733 Contract signed 14Sept Slab 30Sept Bricks laid 1Dec Lock up 26Feb Keys 10Jun Re: C&T Rose - Kitchen delivered!! now with pics 153Mar 11, 2010 10:48 pm Mrs Rose, I've just realised that of your cabinets, 2 of your choices are exactly the same as my original choice with a previous builder we'd intended to build with but couldn't cos my council didn't allow them to dig 20cm into the easement. Your Laminex Antique White and Expresso Ligna was what I'd chosen. After we found our current builder, I had to try to get the closest match of Laminex's Antique White and Expresso Ligna to the Parbury range of colours. I have to admit that I prefer Laminex's colour palette to Parbury's. I don't think the Antique White will show any pink undertones/hues. I had the exact same Antique White cabinets in my old rental and they looked fantastic. That's interesting that you left out the kitchen splashback until later. It makes sense if you're still not sure at the time of your colour selection what to put on your kitchen splashback. Now, this is something to look forward to after your house is complete.
