Building with Wisdom Homes

Finally we’re in production estimates and looks like work will commence within days. Went out to clear some grass and debris on site today. We’ve had a nightmare experience the last 6-8 weeks with confusing and inconsistent information from Wisdom. Our contract states 30 weeks build time but they’ve just explained it is now a 46 weeks build (3 months after the build should have started) Yes we’ve made a few alterations but they should have taken that into account at an earlier stage. LD for going over is $15 per working day and that’s not gonna get us anywhere. On top of this they first wanted to charge us for going over the contract time deadline which was July but we pushed that back hard and escalated to GM. Then things finally started to happen. Fees were waived but it is still most likely going to be a 4 months extra build time. Not sure how they could get it so wrong? Our initial journey with Wisdom started out great but the last couple months have been nothing but a constant chase for updates, issues and poor communication. We’ve been assigned different CSR’s due to ppl leaving and others being promoted so our file has been handed over three times in the last 4 months. Given we’re spending $1M+ on the build I would assume a lot better service and structure than this. Anyway, we’re underway now and I hope we don’t run into other problems. We are very excited to finally start the build, bought the land late 2016 so it has been a very long journey. Fingers crossed the build will run smoothly.

We got all our appliances from Winning Appliances. Wisdom raised a variation and we were credited for the Ilve equipment that was included. Installation is our responsibility but Winnings will do this for us.

Glass is something you want to avoid in a home theatre environment.

I have selected double doors instead of sliding and they are solid core. This will achieve the best acoustic result.

I was going to build with Wisdom as well but this thread has been enough to put me off. Thanks guys...

champs2018 - I would go for light splash-back like "antique white" - like display of ambassador at marsden park.

Do you hv window splash-back ? if so definitely white. Rest of the colors are on trend. Our kitchen is two tone. Brushwood and White poly.

Because your island is white you can go dark cabinets upper and lower as well.Looks Trendy.

I realize that if you have a massive island then it overpowers the lower cabinet. Our island (Ambassador) is so big that you hardly see the lower cabinets, so keep your colors on upper cabinets.

Bathroom mirrors: can anyone comment on how these are fixed to the walls? We want to change them to mirrored shaving cabinets at a later stage, like in a few years, would this be doable?

I have been going through the thread for some time and trying to finalise things, I got quotes from 2 different builders and for a similar square home , My land is slightly sloping but NOT more than 1 m and need a 'H1' class slab.

i got my siting back from both and one of them said i would need deepened edge beams for about half the length of my home that is to hold the dirt that is being filled from cut portion.
While other said i would not need any beams just the cut and fill can take care of it even more the expected ground level of is almost same the difference is few centimeters

Now i am confused which is the better build in terms of design and durability, cut and fill with or without deepened edge beams
