I already got the initial quote together and as I understand it I only get one additional chance to change the quote. So I'd love to have some guidance on costings before I get back to them. Thanks! Just once to change your mind for free.. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 12323Jun 17, 2015 11:42 am Has anyone put in wall niche through EBH? We got quoted for $2317 for it - seems expensive lol what do you think? Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 12325Jun 17, 2015 11:58 am @chz Yes the standard allowance is 24 but I know it's not a straight calculation from 24 to 35 /m2. I recommend you visit them. Ask them to show you the 'standard' and 'upgrade' walls. You can then make a good pre-selection so that when you have your actual appointment, you can give your wishlist and they'll go away and calculate the actual cost of going outside the standard allowance. Yeah, visited their now 'old' showroom. By the time we decided on one floor tile we liked, we were at the other end. Does Eden Brae allow us to supply tiles but use their tiler to lay them during construction? Instead of going with DL. Heard from multiple sources that the Tile Factory Outlet in Smithfield has more options. We're yet to check them out ourselves.. Will definitely do a visit soon to get an idea about how DL and as such EB (if they don't let us supply tiles) compare with the competition. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 12327Jun 17, 2015 2:46 pm If I'm not mistaken you can do main floor tiles yourself after handover. Wet areas however have to be provided through DiLorenzo. They won't allow you to supply your own tiles for them to install. It's a warranty thing. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 12328Jun 17, 2015 2:53 pm We got credit for carpet/tiles from EBH, and ended up getting bamboo flooring in bedrooms and 600x600 polished porcelain tiles for almost the same amount post handover. But as Cremorne35 mentioned, we areas have to be done by EBH. But as Cremorne35 mentioned, we areas have to be done by EBH. Ta, kellyville75. Is it a PITA to do it after handover, with skirting boards, architraves, painting and height of floor cabinets all that? Have to weigh in the $$$$ savings vs the workmanship.. How was it for you? Would you mind sharing some info on your supplier and tiler? Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 12330Jun 17, 2015 5:04 pm hi CHz, As you are building Sheffield 25, i want to know do you have bulkheads on the pantry to the sidewall which is next to the fridge. what size kitchen island bench top are you getting? Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 12331Jun 17, 2015 5:05 pm Was definitely a PITA to be honest. But wouldn't have got it done from EBH for sure. The issue was that I asked EBH to tack-on the skirting, which they didnt. Had to get the skirting taken off, got the tiles put in, then had to get the skirting put in place again and then touched up. Since this request of mine was mentioned in the PCV, EBH decided to pay me half the amount it costed me to get that fixed. So as long as EBH doesnt nail the skirting in, it should be straight forward. Besides that, it was totally worth it. Got my 600x600 polished porcelain tiles from Beaumont tiles and bamboo flooring from CTM tiles in Seven Hills. I actually got CTM to price match the same product that was being offered by a small supplier somewhere Tiler - I wouldnt recommend my tiler to anyone due to the fact that he promised to finish the job in a week, however it took him a bit over 2 weeks to complete it. Can find details for another tiler from a mate who was really efficient and comparatively cheaper. We had already mentioned it to KC to take into account that we'd be getting flooring done post handover. So they made provision for that. Essentially there wasnt any $$$ savings for us, but we got bamboo flooring and bigger tiles for the same price...something that we wanted! Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 12332Jun 17, 2015 7:24 pm In case anyone is interested, I have written a blog about our Eden Brae experience http://niknak3005.blogspot.com.au/ Hope you find it helpful NiK Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 12333Jun 17, 2015 7:53 pm venniechada hi CHz, As you are building Sheffield 25, i want to know do you have bulkheads on the pantry to the sidewall which is next to the fridge. what size kitchen island bench top are you getting? Yes, VC, but I'm not sure if I can help you yet with the bulkhead thingy.. We are yet to do tender! We changed the pantry to WIP. Will let you know soon. What's with the bulkheads? Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 12336Jun 17, 2015 9:14 pm Hasan_S14 Thanks chz We asked for a bigger door then 820 but looks like she misinterpreted us and gave us the quote for 1200mm pivot doors. Thank you all I didn't had much knowledge about this now I can understand where it went wrong. We have asked them to give us a quote for 920 and 1040 for the below doors. https://www.corinthian.com.au/Products/Doors/Entry/Infinity-External-Range/Infinity-INF-8G https://www.corinthian.com.au/Products/Doors/Entry/Infinity-External-Range/Infinity-INF-5VGhttps://www.corinthian.com.au/Products/Doors/Entry/Infinity-External-Range/Infinity-INF-6G Looks like you had a similar experience with getting door prices as we did. Our first choice was the inf 6g and we got the same response - not permitted - no explanation why. Finally after a lot of back and forward we found out we weren't allowed it simply because if the size. Once we knew what size doors we could look at it made it a lot simpler. We went for the 8g in the end - in the pivot. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 12337Jun 17, 2015 9:44 pm Hey chz, You can do it anytime before the final tender time. It can raised as a PCV whenever. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 12339Jun 18, 2015 8:34 pm guys, we though that we can choose 2 standard colors for our kitchen cupboards, however again we were hit with the charges saying that it is called a two tone kitchen and it requires some additional time for the joiners ..blah blah.. there is nothing in the concrete saying that we cannot choose 2 colors for the kitchen cabinets. I mean from the standard range we choose 2 colours. i have to pay additional $528 for the 2 tone kitchen. Did any one aksed for 2 colours for the kitchen and got charged for that ?
