Is it that flat horrible paint? The stuff as when you go to clean a wall, it leaves horrible wipe marks? We are 3 days into our 28 days. Our final construction plan had a mistake. They drew only ONE water tank instead of TWO which we have paid for and need for fire. Never in my years of building has the final, final plan ever been wrong until now. Everyone's houses are looking fab. Natandash-You are the 2nd person on here who has failed an inspection. I suppose BW are only as good as their tradesmen. Jacknruby-I absolutely love your house. All your colours have come together so well. Hi Moon River I found that our paint is good to clean, doesn't leave marks, but they didn't put enough coats on the roof in the kitchen!!! Make sure they do enough coats!!! I wish you the best of luck with your build.......keep on their backs until you get what you want.......it is your house!!!! On a good note, SS is allowing us to let our own electrician in next week as we already had him booked in. So its been rescheduled to next Wednesday, he assured me it will be happening then. so we will see. We are also short tiles (not feature tiles) and they said it's been the same number of tiles short on every beechwood job! Apparently someone at Beechwood has a problem with their math skills!! Tilers turned up this morning but painters got there first and told them they couldn't work in the house (apart from the few tiles all they have to do is grout). Going up shortly to see what the painters have done. Expecting a call from SS about walk through tomorrow. And guess what?? If they haven't got the right amount of tiles.....YOU have to wait longer for the tiles to arrive to finish the job. Surely not another stalling tactic? Maybe I'm so skeptical when it comes to BW, I THINK everythings a conspiracy. BW must have worked out that they CAN'T build a house in 24 weeks and are p1ssing clients off left and right, so have changed their contract term from 24 to 30 weeks. Just found out our house will be a 30 week contract which means 40 weeks I suspect. Hey, why not go the whole hog and just make it a whole year. It's only an extra 15 weeks. Sarbear.....have they started on your place yet? Penny-have you got your frame up yet? Not there doing however. Bank only sent our loan docs last week. We signed and sent back via express post. Bank confirmed they were received Thursday last week, just waiting on commencement letter now. How did you find out about 30 week contract? Was this after you signed original contract? They resent that specific page in the mail yesterday for us to sign and it says 30 weeks. Is yours 30 or 24 weeks? They said ours is 30 weeks because we live in the sticks, apparently. All the appliances are due on Friday along with toilets, door handles etc..... Plumbers comming Monday!!! Yes, I'm getting a little excited now SS said we can settle same day which would be great! Because we have access to our house (mostly because our SS is more reasonable than most + doing our own electrical) we'll pick up on any problems before then anyway! Have my fingers, toes, arms, legs and anything else I can think of crossed that things move along smoothly! Acre 1 - How's your place going?? What have you been told about the tilers?? SS told me that Indent do all the calculations for the tile orders (which I remember the woman at Indent mentioning to me) so they are resonsible for that stuff up! But if this has been happening on a regular basis then it is Beechwood's responsibility to do something about it! That is what we pay them for after all! 20/4 - Earthworks 25/5 SLAB 9/6 Frame 21/6 Roof 5 - 22/7 Bricking 1/8 Gyprocking 16 - 18/08 Faulty Trusses repaired 17/08 Kitchen in 07/09 Tilers 15/09 Painters 30/9 Plumbers finished 7/10 Settled Re: Who is building with Beechwood 1231Sep 20, 2011 6:32 pm Moonriver, Our contract is for 23 weeks. Next week will be busy, with the cleaner, handover, and our own electrician and tiler, then the carpet then its move in time.
