Council only sent it 3 weeks ago, took me 15mins to call council, wait on hold and have a copy sent to me. Forwarded to M with a large cc list asking them "what the xx$&@! Are you doing about this" Seems to have done the trick to move them along. Now I just need to re-schedule demo, moving out, financials etc etc. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78995 Build thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78995 Re: Metricon Glendale 37+ 125Apr 11, 2016 8:05 am Oh, hope M gets on their bike and sort it out! @ Orph build thread: viewtopic.php?t=78328 Dream Metricon Glendale 38 (Sydney)! Any thoughts? viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78995 Whats the issue with the tree? @ Orph build thread: viewtopic.php?t=78328 Dream Metricon Glendale 38 (Sydney)! Update from council "we have discussed this matter with our consultant town planner and landscape architects who are undertaking assessment of your application. At this stage Council officers do not support removal of this tree. Council considers it to make a significant streetscape contribution, and is in reasonable health and vigour. With suitable design amendments that could be easily undertaken (such as mirror reversal with the driveway in it’s current location; placing the proposed dwelling in the same location as the existing building footprint), Council considers that the tree could be retained and with appropriate tree protection, could withstand construction impacts within the site." That's after an arborist report that said the tree was poor health and in stress and should be removed. You must of gotten a tree hugging councilor reviewing yr application. Generally the council have their own arborists who assess the tree and do not accept private ones. Can i ask: 1. How far is the tree from yr building footprint? 2. Are you willing to reverse the house design? @ Orph build thread: viewtopic.php?t=78328 Dream Metricon Glendale 38 (Sydney)! Reverse yes but not move back to existing footprint. That would put us at 9m set back rather than 6m (which both of my neighbours have) eats majorly into rear garden. Still a raw update, just can't believe it. Build thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78995 Re: Metricon Glendale 37+ 132Apr 12, 2016 5:32 pm Oh! But if the tree is of poor health wouldn't it be a risk? Seems you have some restrictions. I guess going through CDC won't help as you still need to get council approval to remove the tree? @ Orph build thread: viewtopic.php?t=78328 Dream Metricon Glendale 38 (Sydney)! I'm assuming that you are submitting to Ryde Council. Build thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78995 Re: Metricon Glendale 37+ 140Apr 12, 2016 9:57 pm What is the distance from the tree to the current house? Our council had a rule that if the tree was within 3 metres of the house you could have it removed for safety concerns no matter what tree or condition. We had applied twice for approval to remove tree prior to no luck, they even warned us for have too much tree branches removed. Within 1 week of them Implementing the rule we had our two trees removed, the same rule also impacted another large tree at the back of our property. But we need to plant a tree from their list as replacement and we can put it wherever we want. You may also be able to dispute in land environment court ( can't remember exact name) My thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=77665 Nev _________________ Blog | ( will start once received tender ) H1 thread | https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=77665 Hi, First of all, thank you to this community for sharing your thoughts and opinions.
