So as our side neighbour hasn't had their setout done (and they are also building with Plantation) our SS is going to organise with their SS to get the peg re-established (it's their peg too so it's beneficial for them) which will be good. It's weird that we're building next to each other with the same company and we have different SS...But whatever, I'm happy with ours so far Jen (& Dave) Plantation Bronte, Ormeau Ridge, Gold Coast QLD 12/03/2015 - Commencement... 26/08/2015 - Handover! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76446 Re: Plantation Bronte, Ormeau Ridge QLD - Slabbed! 130Apr 16, 2015 10:17 pm Bloody retaining walls lol At tender Plantation told us we needed $14k in retaining walls down both sides. We then changed position of house to only require retaining wall on one side. I was now expecting the quote to be halved since we were now getting half the retaining wall. Nope came in at $11k. They agreed it didn't sound right and organised another quote. Next one was $9k. Decided to go with that as it seemed too much effort to organise ourselves 😬 Re: Plantation Bronte, Ormeau Ridge QLD - Slabbed! 131Apr 16, 2015 10:22 pm Plantation do have a reputation for excessive retaining walls apparently. Bear in mind that if once they start site works they realize it's not needed, they won't build it and you'll get a credit - that's what happened in my case, anyway. We were happy in the end with what we ended up with. We decided not to organize ourselves too - I couldn't even get a single tradie to turn up and quote me, so I had zero hope of them actually turning up to do the job, and I didn't want to cause a delay. Money vs hassle, in this case we spent more money for less hassle ——— Sent from Tapatalk My build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76446 Jen (& Dave) Plantation Bronte, Ormeau Ridge, Gold Coast QLD 12/03/2015 - Commencement... 26/08/2015 - Handover! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76446 Re: Plantation Bronte, Ormeau Ridge QLD - Slabbed! 132Apr 17, 2015 7:40 am IlaeriaPlantation do have a reputation for excessive retaining walls apparently.
