Beautiful! Love the facade without a garage...
Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Halls Head Beach House 122Jul 11, 2014 10:39 pm Slowly but surely we are having some progress but not a lot of photos... Sorry External and internal painting progressed, garage door installed, paving complete (including our half a metre long driveway!) Our servery flyscreen has been installed. We've been interested to see how it would work in what looks like a standard window frame. We have blinds ordered and waiting for upstairs window sills to be completed for final measure of shutters. We also have our correct front door with the handle installed... Getting closer but still so much to do. You can't be far away from handover? Re: Halls Head Beach House 124Jul 12, 2014 2:27 am Half your luck, half a metre driveway! I'm worried about some of our fly screens too. How are the mozzies in Mandurah lately? http://www.housebythewater.wordpress.com From blank block to new home in Mandurah, Western Australia. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65564 Re: Halls Head Beach House 125Jul 12, 2014 10:38 am Mozzies were great last summer. A combination of weather and treatment did wonders. It's either the La Niña or El Niño that affects the tides. Extreme or higher than predicted tides means treatment is useless due to all the samphire wetlands around the estuary. Last year was great. But shouldn't be an issue near the beach with the wind. The servery screen was something we knew nothing about. We asked for it but didn't know now it would work. But it's really neat and will be a great (and not expensive) feature for our verandah (which is out of the wind). Final gyprock being completed (top of stairs/void and window sills upstairs so we can get shutters fitted) Tiling started, but may have apruptly ended just when we arrived. I hope they're back soon Final painting, plumbing and electrical booked for next week. Starting to get our list together. Same floor tile going in both bathrooms too. Not too dark but not too light either. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Really happy with how our colour choices have come together. We didn't go overboard in getting everything matched up appears to have worked well. An example is the render on porch posts working with the paving edge. We also went with subtle changes in tiles / cupboards between all wet areas. I'm hoping that my laundry floor tiles are very similar to yours. Are you using an Inspector? I've started to get quotes and would love some more local recommendations. http://www.housebythewater.wordpress.com From blank block to new home in Mandurah, Western Australia. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65564 Re: Halls Head Beach House 129Jul 21, 2014 9:34 pm Looking good! Lovely colour selections which will go with everything. Re: Halls Head Beach House 130Jul 21, 2014 10:53 pm Your colours are looking really good. Hopefully the tiler will be back on site soon and get it finished off for you. Re: Halls Head Beach House 131Jul 25, 2014 11:24 pm More tiling progressed. How much was it to add the tiled shelf? Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Halls Head Beach House 133Jul 26, 2014 11:40 pm There's been more progress today but no photos. It's looking good though. The tiled shelf was about $100. We have one in our current house and couldn't do without it. I understand they use three tile suppliers, can you please PM your tile supplier and style for you floor tiles? Cheers Ted Re: Halls Head Beach House 135Jul 31, 2014 12:05 am Been heaps going on in the last few days. Tiling progressed, electrical work commenced, balustrading installed, oven in etc etc. Our paving has been cleaned up and we finally got a pic of the garage door. As reported above, we can't believe how well our colours go together, including the retaining wall and steps to the park and the contrasting render on the piers.
