If it was a smaller office, weatherhill park was going to be my suggestion Re: Who is building with Beechwood 11922Mar 31, 2016 9:47 am smallz2007 Oh here's hoping for you guys, surely shouldn't be to much longer We finally have cornices being done today after sitting in the shed for 2weeks and all our doors had arrived 2days ago they are supposedly being done today also..ss days kitchen will be installed Monday.. Very exciting Smallz you're really not far behind us at all. We still have one piece of cornice in the loungeroom that hasn't been done so not sure what's happening there. 😊 Re: Who is building with Beechwood 11923Mar 31, 2016 10:04 am paulsingh Moscato5 paulsingh Gday everyone, How long does it take for all the paperwork before certifier approvals.? Took us 6 weeks just to get pre drawn plans. Had to do couple of necessary changes and now its been a month again havn't received anything back from beechwood. Every time i email them, they tell me as soon as its ready we'll email you. We paid our initial deposit end of november last year our land got registered just before christmas, received first drawn plans end of february, since then no progress.. Any advise what we should do. Our calls never get an answer or reply back. Thanks in advance for any help. We paid deposit 4/12, first plans back 30/1, we had small change being piers to Terrezza changed to brick. We are now sitting with Certifier and have been for 2 weeks now. Last we heard they are waiting on engineers report and sewer approval. Which office you going through my friend? We are dealing with Shell Cove / Nowra. So far have been fantastic. Answer all our questions promptly and although we are impatient everything seems to be running in a timely manner. Just had word back and certifier just requiring driveway gradient then should have approval by next week. Everything crossed. A little excited right now. 20/11/15 - Settled land 06/11/15 - Request 1st tender BH 21/04/16 - Colour Selections and Contracts Signed 31/05/16 - Commencement Letter 24/06.16 - Started work onsite - cut and benching begun Re: Who is building with Beechwood 11924Mar 31, 2016 12:04 pm We paid our deposit on 13 Feb 16 Got our first drawn plans 27 Mar 16 We responded today with some changes, but one of those is to flip the plan from left to right. They were not happy with that at all almost changed my mind just based on the response. Was told if they get time later they will do the tender amendments and forward it onto someone (draftsmen/head office?), otherwise it will be whenever they get the time. Told it will take another 5 weeks to get next response. That was at 10:30.. I gave my wife an update, and she asked me if i asked a certain question, which I forgot.. Now I got to ring back, but tbh, i do not want to. From my understanding, after we sign the drawn plans, any changes after would incur a $1000 fee. We are going through CDC, and am worried if it does not make it through CDC and the council requires changes if we need to pay the $1000 fee etc Anyone experienced this? Re: Who is building with Beechwood 11925Mar 31, 2016 1:19 pm The $1,000 fee doesn't come into play until after you have signed your contract You are able to change plans right up until you come out of council, do your colour selections and then we signed our contract right after that - but I know you're able to take a couple of days to think about it and make sure there is nothing else at all. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 11926Mar 31, 2016 3:49 pm I agree with what el-verdelho has posted. We changed a few minor things after contract signing (within 48hrs). That said.....you cannot make changes that impact on what has gone through council, like changing design, adding extra garage, removing/repositioning windows, etc, etc. (As far as I know). Just depends what you want to change I suppose. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 11928Apr 01, 2016 7:15 am braddy_ Cheers, thanks. I was not concerned about changes we might want to make, ti was if it does not get through CDC and COUNCIL requires changes before re-submitting to DA. So, no worries Braddy, call head office and change reps. Best thing that we ever did. And trust me, we are not the 1st people to have done it. You dont have to feel the way you are feeling. We were the same with the same rep. Now we have changed and we are really enjoying our experience now instead of arguing over who is going to call her. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 11929Apr 01, 2016 2:01 pm Been into our sales rep today to make a few minor adjustments to our internal plans. Nothing yhat will affect coming out of certifier next week. Just the bulk head in home theatre, kitchen pot drawers like the ones in moscato at watagan park either side of oven. Has anyone added a hinged door to their ensuite, and if so roughly what price could we be looking at? We added that to our plans. I said to our rep "you'll be glad to see the back end of us" as we are very particular with what we want. He was fantastic with us. 20/11/15 - Settled land 06/11/15 - Request 1st tender BH 21/04/16 - Colour Selections and Contracts Signed 31/05/16 - Commencement Letter 24/06.16 - Started work onsite - cut and benching begun Re: Who is building with Beechwood 11930Apr 01, 2016 2:08 pm Moscato5 Been into our sales rep today to make a few minor adjustments to our internal plans. I am completely confused with how it all works. We have paid the initial deposit $5500 to get the ball rolling with BH. You don't need to add $$ figures if you prefer not. Our conditional bank letter states we need to pay $xxx. Does that initial $5500 come off that figure? Do we need to pay that out of our pocket then reclaim the FHOG? I'm lost. It's been explained but not in simple terms. 20/11/15 - Settled land 06/11/15 - Request 1st tender BH 21/04/16 - Colour Selections and Contracts Signed 31/05/16 - Commencement Letter 24/06.16 - Started work onsite - cut and benching begun Re: Who is building with Beechwood 11932Apr 02, 2016 11:05 am I'll send you a photo of ours when i get home but basically when you signed contract the break down in the payments would be there. But with the first home owners grant, did you have that paid straight off your bill, or did you get given that money? We are told it is paid after the slab is poured. We are told by bank we need to contribute $20500 which is essentially the deposit plus the FHOG. So do I need to have the $15000 in my bank account to pay on the first payment, then the FHOG is paid to me? Hope that makes sense. I know what I'm trying to say but it's hard to put it in words. We haven't signed contracts yet. Hoping to in the next few weeks. Only the pre- contract for FHOG but it didn't have figures in it. 20/11/15 - Settled land 06/11/15 - Request 1st tender BH 21/04/16 - Colour Selections and Contracts Signed 31/05/16 - Commencement Letter 24/06.16 - Started work onsite - cut and benching begun Re: Who is building with Beechwood 11934Apr 02, 2016 10:57 pm I was told the same thing by my bank, at the 1st progress payment (after slab) the bank will process & receive the fhog, & that in addition to my contribution will be the payment....I'll let you know for sure this week after our slab is poured. It was the same us as we got the FHOG after slab was poured however all our progress payments were paid by bank and the money just went straight into our account. I think you can get it taken off one of your progress payments but I doubt it will be the first one but i guess it all depends how it has been arranged with your bank. You get to nominate where the funds get put. I.e which account you want it to be in. Ours took a couple months to come through so not sure how it can be used for a progress payment.
