We are in Liverpool council if that makes a difference and we were told they are usually very slow on the normal DA applications. Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 11864Jul 18, 2015 2:40 am divine_home Cathleigh - so here is a pic of our pendant lights that we decided to buy ourselves (from Beacon) after handover. We ended up going for something a bit understated. The wiring still needs to straighten out a bit. Also got some new furniture. It's slowly coming together but I reckon it will be a couple of months before things feel homely. Anyone else feel that way after moving in? It still feels like I'm visiting someone else's house! Really happy with the overall finish. Prob only thing that feels like a design flaw with the Havana/Veuve is the smallish laundry/linen cupboards. But I really don't plan to be spending all my time in the laundry! Our landscaping has started today too. Costing a lot, but we just want it done at this point! Spotted DeLonghi kettle and toaster too ( will be so embarrassing it they are not....) It looks like your sink is not centred? Did you rearrange it and get sink cupboard next to the drawers? Do you mind telling me how much it cost to get the pendant lights wired? We planned to do pre-wiring and put up at least 6 pendent lights after handover. so trying to work out our budget on electrical. We have some progress on the roof at last. Think we have maybe 2/3 of the roof done. Roofers turned up today, I couldn't believe it but I will take it ! Roof is monument but this side of the house looks a very very light grey...have others noticed this with their roof? The other side of the house looks dark like monument but all sparkly and wet looking ? weird I know but at we almost have a roof at long last so who really cares at this point. Also got an email to say the bricklayers have finally finished (took 4 weeks). I used to laugh at the completely random and weird stuff that was dumped....for example we have a pressure cooker on out front yard ...like wtf ? hahah I mean who drives past a new estate and chucks out their pressure cooker ! hahaha but its getting so bad .....next door is not being built on yet and has become a complete dumping ground for people.....today someone has dumped a complete house full of new lighting packaging on the land....someone else dumped a neatly tied stack of about 20 oil containers....furniture, bags of clothes....seriously ! SS told us once its dark he sees heaps of people in utes driving around stealing and dumping rubbish... [/quote] Hi Damo2 We are building the Monte Carlo Executive with rear activities at Wallabi Point (which is near Old Bar). Our frame got delivered last Wednesday. We haven't been able to get there to have a look but would be good if the frame got started last week. It is good when they do the slab so you can see how your house is going to sit on your block. Exciting times ahead!
