You have done a fantastic job. I noticed you had the essentials on the bench in the kitchen too - beer, pie and sauce. Love the photos. Make sure you post more when you get other things done. Have you got landscaping to do also? I have heard that it is an upgrade yo have the glass splashback all the way behind your rangehood? Can you confirm this? I have the impressions upgrade package which incl glass splashback but not sure if they only do up to the overhead cupboards or if they go all the way behind the rangehood aswell :/ Anyone have any experience with this? Or know how much the upgrade will cost? Thanks! Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 11845Jul 17, 2015 6:39 am Your kitchen looks amazing! Apparently it used to be an upgrade to have the glass behind the range but not anymore. Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 11848Jul 17, 2015 8:25 am EM1 Thats great news Thanks ganilton & cathyleigh! Hopefully it's still included in the impressions package when i start building! Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 11849Jul 17, 2015 9:20 am Cathleigh - so here is a pic of our pendant lights that we decided to buy ourselves (from Beacon) after handover. We ended up going for something a bit understated. The wiring still needs to straighten out a bit. Also got some new furniture. It's slowly coming together but I reckon it will be a couple of months before things feel homely. Anyone else feel that way after moving in? It still feels like I'm visiting someone else's house! Really happy with the overall finish. Prob only thing that feels like a design flaw with the Havana/Veuve is the smallish laundry/linen cupboards. But I really don't plan to be spending all my time in the laundry! Our landscaping has started today too. Costing a lot, but we just want it done at this point! Is that the Delonghi toaster and kettle on your kitchen benchtop that I can see? I love Delonghi!!!! I have already brought my toaster and kettle for the new kitchen. Your pendant lights are very different to the ones you were initially thinking. We have been doing the same thing. Who knows what pendant lights we will end up with in the end. We will make the final decision once the kitchen has been installed because we are doing them ourselves too after handover. We will just have the baton lights there. Yes landscaping. That is the downside of building. There is always such a lot of hard work and money that goes into it. Enjoy your new home! Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 11853Jul 17, 2015 11:18 am Your work is faultless and inspiring. I'm about to attempt some HT sliding doors and I was a little sheepish about how to deal with the existing skirting leading into the HT. I notice in this picure you've left it intact - how have you 'filled' the wedge in the skirting? Did you cut the kickboard to match the skirting? I would love to see this zoomed in. Also, can you tell me where you purchased your laminate? Bunnings and the like? Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 11854Jul 17, 2015 12:16 pm MadamImAdam Your work is faultless and inspiring.
