Opticomm is the fibre optic setup in some new estates... Provides phone, tv, pay tv, internet etc all in one..

We are having NBN... It was $626 in our tender, but included one main point and one additional Cat6 point... We got two more ports...I think it is approx $200 extra each one, because they costed the data point and then there was he additional fee for the Cat6. They put the unit in your garage. Hope that helps.

Here is another example of receiving conflicting information.

I rang DiLorenzo today to talk about the Linsey leaves being discontinued and was told by the lady that they are not discontinued. That they were told a week or so ago that they were going to be but that that was a mistake and that you can still get them.

So I don't know what is going on with them. I will just wait and hear if I need to choose new tiles I guess.

It has been so long since I have posted and a lot has happened. I need some advise:

We had to refinance our home and land in order to apply for a construction loan. The first part of the loan settled 6 months ago and we got a conditional approval for construction.
All the plans have been approved, EBH are now just waiting for the Authority to Commence Construction and formal approval.
We then got a call from the bank saying that the value of the construction is $30k less than the final price they were forwarded from EBH and we were short. I got a personal loan to cover the shortfall. Problem solved......NOT!
Three days later we sent the bank the proof of funds to complete, but then they tell us that they have accidently forgotten to charge the LMI on the first loan and we need another $11k. I am not sure about you guys but I don't have $11k laying around.
Now we are going to choose another lender that can provide all this in a refinance loan.

Has anyone had a similar experience and do you know what fees EBH may charge for delays as the contract period expired Sept 30.

Any thoughts??

benblinkau - We were quoted $4581 for Smoke/Nutmeg, $4,950 for Nickel Flash/Blue Steel Flash, $1,938 for Mild Steel/Loam & $934 for Gravel. I think Cement falls in the same category as Gravel so you should be up for around $1,000.
What are your colour choices apart from the brick?

We paid $395 for our one story underlay upgraded to the middle one. We just went with the standard range carpet though due to the kids who will no doubt trash it. Will get something better when they have grown up a bit.

What is the middle range? I would like to get a good underlay but, like you, stick with the standard range of carpet.

Foxley 27, we had issues with bank, but not similar. We delayed the process by A month, my CSA was very good and understanding, so we din have an issue. I think communicating with EB in situations like these helps. I am sure they can give you a little more time. An also did you try Citibank redicash they have 15 months benefit with 1.98% interest rate Upto 30000. That's wat I got when I had few issues with money. Well give EB a call first.

Standard range is black underlay, gold is mid range$5 extra per sqm, blue is the premium underlay and is $8 extra per sqm.

An update on the house, yeh I know been a while. Been so busy, since returning to work after maternity leave. Well bricks done, roof done, eveas and downpipes done, by the way we got square down pipes looks good,balcony posts done, aircon roughing and electrical done, Tyrell inspection done, waiting to see if EB will send a copy on Monday, gyprock next week, it's gettin more and more exciting every week.

What was the reason for the bank undervaluing it? If you don't mind me asking... Did you get a heap of stuff at selections etc?

Still unsure of what colour roof... Whether to go dark or light... Cement is pretty light... So we aren't quite sure... Woodland grey?

It was for the EBH that we are building. Final price with site costs, driveway and around $12k in upgrade was $300k but only valued at $270k. We approached another lender who advised us to include EVERYTHING in their paperwork, like lighting, landscaping, fencing, window coverings etc.

It can be difficult to judge the value if your house in a new estate..

We at nearly this and we aren't getting a pool!! We know we have been valued at the bank and they valued it exactly as contract price, but we have added a further 20k with upgrades in colour and electrical appointments... We are thinking we will just use our savings which we had put aside for this. Still have to buy light fixtures, letterbox, turf, security doors, clothesline, plants for landscaping and furniture... So it will be more than just 20k on top... I will just have a beautiful house with minimal furnishings lol

sysbuild!!! Congratulations mate. Finally I paid $250 to Abbey Blinds, I got quotation from outside and negotiation with Abbey Blinds and they matched it. Only Advantage Blinds would be installed before you move in. I am getting simple Vertical and Roller blinds , it costs me around 3700$ for double story.

Hi, we are also building a Lincoln (Monroe facade) at The Ponds. We are at the internal lining stage. We are also looking at having vertical blinds installed. Just wondering which rooms you are having roller blinds installed?
