In other news I think the roof that was fixed again isn't fixed as there a slow leak coming from the same place, not as bad but still...why can't they fix this properly and replace the whole metal sheet rather than packing it with silicone?! Anyway bar this issue PCI should proceed as it seems most things are done of booked for this week, other than paint and glass issues. Please keep your fingers crossed for us everyone! https://mandgbuildatmulgoarise.wordpress.com/ Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11462Jun 20, 2016 10:10 pm We've just been looking at our external colours, trying to work out how it will all look. A couple of sites help: http://www.colourtouch.com.au/ http://brickworks.rendivo.com.au/ Unfortunately for us the Monier tiles are at colour touch and the austral bricks are on brickworks, but we got a relatively good idea. Now the long wait to organise a new unit. Not looking forward to Friday. Snow is forecast. And to add to the fun, the mechanism for our automatic garage door detached itself off the ceiling yesterday. Does the M fun ever end? Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11464Jun 21, 2016 3:24 pm At least they are replacing it I guess but what a nightmare. I hope you get it ASAP. Did the mechanism hit anything on its way down? Probably had the same bad tradies as you... https://mandgbuildatmulgoarise.wordpress.com/ Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11465Jun 21, 2016 4:18 pm There's a small part still attached to the ceiling so it's hanging off. It's certainly not impressive. We barely used it. Keep an eye out for * plasterwork if you're unlucky enough to get out plasterer. No word on the AC being sorted yet. But what's the hurry? Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11466Jun 21, 2016 4:21 pm sounds like they attached the garage door opener to just the gyprock, not into a rafter/beam. not the brightest idea! Glad it didn't fall onto your car! I'd be jumping up and down about your air-con too....... especially with the cold snap coming! The tiles are great. But I wish the trades just get things right. We have to get roofers and gyprockers back again to fix this stupid roof. Third time lucky. I can't remember who asked but I've got more pics of the splashback on the blog now https://mandgbuildatmulgoarise.wordpress.com/ Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11472Jun 21, 2016 8:54 pm MGardz I'm with you Bleaky, we went to the house today and I love my kitchen so much. I'm going for a similar colour scheme so it's been great seeing your house come together! Hope baby Mgardz is letting you get some sleep Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11473Jun 22, 2016 7:09 am Thanks Jolo I'm really happy with how it looks. There's still lots to do but yesterday was the first time in a while I walked out of there happy. Baby is dong well she only woke once last night https://mandgbuildatmulgoarise.wordpress.com/ Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11474Jun 22, 2016 8:22 am Congratulations on baby Gardz.... Not good about the leak, but glad things are moving. Keep warm Bleaky, not good about the aircon or garage door I hope for you it does not get as cold as they are saying. Talking about doing jobs right I am sure M just don't understand... Our balcony door was delivered damaged or damaged very soon after delivery onsite (scratched back to metal in various spots) we advised our last 2 site supervisors not to install it as we would not accept a repair we purchased a new home with new doors not damaged. Our inspector has confirmed this can not be fixed onsite and needs to be replaced, M are insistent on repair not replace can I force them to replace????? We were advised WIR & Pantry fit out 10/6 and guess what it's still not done, and hubby was what I considered threatened yesterday that if we didn't set a date for PCI M would do it without us, WTF they have delayed our house can never give an accurate date when work will be done our inspector says our home is not practically complete but M think it is we still do not have WIR OR Pantry fit out no water tank skirting half done no fly screens on our windows as SS did not know they were supplying them so I am guessing they have not been ordered. There are so many fix up things I do not know how they can get it all done in 2 weeks if we do PCI now. SS says he books tradies and they just don't turn up our question is if they don't turn up now how will we get them to turn up once we sign PCI... Please answer that for me Masterton!!!!! Well anywhere else it would be but not on this thread. What I don't understand about the trades M gets is that I have three allworths that were built in my estate. All of them flew up. They had trades almost every day. Not just one trade moving from build to build but 3 sets of the same trade. How is it so hard for M to get anyone? Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11476Jun 22, 2016 2:14 pm Hi everyone, Does anyone know much about the landscaping process? Is a formal design required? (some places are charging $2-$3k just for a design) also does council have to approve landscape/fencing?? Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11477Jun 22, 2016 2:23 pm Saltwater71, I think it depends on your council or perhaps your estate (if you're in a new estate). Our council didn't require anything regarding landscaping, although I have seen some that do require a design in place when plans are lodged. As we are in a new estate, we had restrictions on fencing as well as driveway crossovers. The council didn't have to approve our choices, but if we strayed from their design requirements, I'm sure we would have heard about it and would probably have had to replace the fence or re-do the crossover. When we did our landscaping, i went online to h!pages (that should read "hi") and interested/available landscapers contacted me, and no one charged anything to do a quote. I'm guessing if they are wanting the job, and they're well aware that others are quoting, maybe they won't be so quick to charge to do a quote? $2 to $3k is a ridiculous amount! Our overall quote was a little higher cause we added roller blinds for sliding doors. And flyscreen doors. But shutters definitely cheapest we've got. (And I've got about 5-6 quotes from all over western Sydney)... And their product is covered under mastertons warranty. So it's a win win for us. I just got my first quote back for blinds - $22K!!! from accent blinds, I almost had a heart attack Fingers crossed Ark come through for me too! Oh I really hope I don't have restrictions! I really want a high fence and full privacy (we are on a corner and opposite bushland). I wonder if M can help with this? one company told me that the builder should advise you on landscape design and lodge a simple design with council along with the building plans. I'll definitely get on h!pages too - thank you GillyM Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11480Jun 22, 2016 2:57 pm Saltwater71 sachapman1084 Yeah. $9k for all.
