Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1141Dec 07, 2012 3:22 pm It's so good to hear of all the activity and excitement. The best part of the slab to bricking stage is that most days you can drive by and see how much M have done that day (well same goes the other way when they haven't done anything for no apparent reason!) We are now scheduled for PCI and handover on 19th December. We are the last appointment for the year for handover so we are definitely pushing it! Painters finishing up today/tomorrow so that the remaining bits can be done by electrical/sentinel/aircon and then cleanup is scheduled for the week after. Considering our formwork was only started at the beginning of August, we are over the moon! Big thanks to our totally AWESOME SS!! Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1142Dec 07, 2012 3:29 pm Manhattan 37 builder Congrats Vatche - yes it's a lovely feeling. You might feel that the rooms are so small but once the plasterboard is up it will feel alot bigger I'll second that. Its quite bizarre really as the rooms seem so much bigger when the frames are up. We had no action on site today. We were expexting 10 more of our doors to be delivered but so far they are a no show. Looks like the carpenters wont be able to finish them off on Monday Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1143Dec 07, 2012 4:13 pm Vatche No activity for us today. Looks like they do not like working on Fridays I would hate to find out that due to banks payment delays workers have gone off to another job. I think we must have the same team of carpenters , nothing done at mine for two days but they were there today haha it's all very confusing isn't it 12 DA 22/6 Tiles 11/8 Aircon/Sent 17/8 Colours 24/8 Contract 24/8 Demo 5/10 Scrape 6/11 Slab 20/11 Frame 30/11 13 Roof 15/2 Insulation 25/3 Paint 8/5 Garage door 22/5 PCI 30/5 Keys 21/6 Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1144Dec 07, 2012 4:24 pm shireduplex Vatche No activity for us today. Vatche Ricaaaa how quickly after colours was the electrical appointment made? I'm assuming chances of it happening before Christmas is slim to none?! Just ring M and ask who and where the electrical is, and contact them and make the appointment. Don't wait for them did that and we are booked in for next Friday. YAY!! Progress on all the builds is just keeping on isn't it! I know what you mean Vatche about the frustration when there are days where nothing appears to happen but unfortunately I think it's a part of building. Friends of ours built last year and had the same thing - they are really patient people though unlike me and they even found it frustrating. I do kind of wish I had put something in the contract where I could send something back on sunny days where nothing happens to counteract the 'rain delay' notifications but somehow don't think ANY builder would have signed on for that We met with our SS earlier in the week (he really is just fantastic) and were told that they will probably get both levels pretty close to bricked before shut down but unfortunately won't get the roof on in time before then..... Am trying put up some pics so hopefully you guys can see the progress they've made this week. That is insane condition! I'm sure you can contest it. Is this an agreement in the your contract or is this like a standard ruling? I don't believe we will have a slab down within the 6 months of land settlement and the last thing I want to think about is trying to get the money to pay for stamp duty....also are you in NSW? We went out to visit out land tonight and our neighbours have already started building so devo, first floor frames are already up (it's been about a month since we last went out to visit and there was nothing)....their builders have left us a present, a nice pile of concrete, does anyone know if M will charge us to have this removed or am I best to contact their builder and try and get them to do something about it? Just ring up someone from the office of state revenue, get details to apply for an extension... Cost nothing just time but takes a week to get approved... So best to get onto to it early this week.
