Ok - so i don't know how to import a picture but here is a link to a US company that sells them http://www.buytile.com/home.php?main_pa ... Dearheart Who else is building with Eden Brae? 1145Oct 05, 2012 9:27 pm 1sttimebuilding2012 Hi everyone we have finally finished all appointments!!!! We spent heaps at electrical adding more power points and 2 way switches, external lighting, more alarm sensors, data points and tv antenna! Then we went to flooring I asked about floating floors and they arent builder's standard! You will get credit on what you select. We upgraded floor tile in bathroom and got mosaics as a feature in the bath and ensuite.... I had originally selected Lindsay leaves and I know some of you selected it for your bathroom, it is now DISCONTINUED! So all that prep work I had done was not worth it. Even the kitchen splash back tile was discontinued! And we upgraded on the carpet... I can't wait to walk on the carpet. Upgraded the underlay too! Just waiting on the ACC from the bank and chase up all those pcvs we have created by upgrading at every appointment. Hate having to micro manage everyone... Well we have been told that we can choose floating floors as part of the builders choice! Lol gotta love the inconsistencies! Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 1147Oct 05, 2012 11:32 pm That sucks 1st Time. Guess I better take myslef off to DiLorenzo tomorrow and choose a back up tile. What did you choose instead?? Do you have a picture? Dearheart Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 1148Oct 06, 2012 8:51 am I chose a plain tile instead, not the one they replaced it with... The one they replaced it with is similar background colour but no design. It is a bigger tile requiring labour $$$ they have matched this with a mosaic border... I went with the mosaic border... More$$$$ though, for labour. I do have pics but no computer at the moment to download them to. Just got the iPad at the moment. We had our floor appointment and they said we could choose them but we would have to pay the difference. They were very clear on what was standard ie yellow dot tiles, carpet in the middle on the blue racks and very flimsy black underlay!! We went with Evolution (only extra $5 per m2) as it had a bit more of a plush feel to it and we were advised not to have 'directional carpet' or patterns that need to run in a certain way. We also upgrade from that black flimsy underlay - best one on upper level to try & help buffer noise and the medium level on the ground floor. Floating floors are generally cheaper, quicker and easier to instal than tiles! Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 1160Oct 06, 2012 5:14 pm Hi all, We signed our contract yesterday with EBH , which was exciting. However, now we have the long wait until the land is registered . On the bright side, we now get to start with the colour selection appointments with HOG and Di Lorenzo. I have been doing extensive research (and so many of you have helped me immensely) so I am hoping to go in well prepared and not get too overwhelmed by upgrades. We definitely want to upgrade our kitchen being the heart of our home, and some upgraded bathroom tiles, and probably a bit on electrical, but that's it (I know I am probably kidding myself) Kerith - do you recall what the cost per m2 was for the upgraded underlay? Oh...one thing we asked at our appointment was about the termite protection. Apparently EBH used to supply the reticulated termite protection (external barrier) as standard but they now only do the termite protected frame. If you are building a two story house, they install the reticulated barrier at the base of the stairs, but that is it. We were advised, if we were concerned, that we speak with the landscaper about installing the reticulated system after handover! I built with EB back on 2009.
