Sent from my SM-G925I using Tapata Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11362Jun 08, 2016 4:22 pm Saltwater we have one installed. You need a gas pipe and electrical point and an isolation switch. If you're getting M to build the wall to house it then that also has to comply with the heat proofing like gyprock and beams depends what unit you get https://mandgbuildatmulgoarise.wordpress.com/ Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11363Jun 08, 2016 4:36 pm Hi all - apologies in advance if I'm going off-topic - I just thought it might be better to ask here than to start a new thread. We are interested in building with Masterton, but also keen in using Hebel Powerfloor for the upper flooring (instead of particleboard) - has this option ever come up in your discussions with Masterton? Keen to find out whether it's possible, and if so, then to get an idea of ballpark cost. Thanks for any feedback! Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11364Jun 08, 2016 5:17 pm Saltwater71 sachapman1084 - what do you need in the house to be able to use a gas fireplace? I would love one too but don't know what is needed for it - is it just a gas point? Saltwater, as Mgardz said, you'll need a gas point and electrical connection. And then depending on the unit etc a false wall will need to be built to enclose it. (Am not sure of the cost of this from M - Mgardz, did you get your wall built by m?) It will also need to be flued. Ours in on the ground floor so have opted for a direct flue, which goes straight out the back wall.. But depending on location, will determine your options for type of flue etc... __________________________________________ House/Land Package Purchased:02.02.15 5% House Deposit Paid:17.03.15 10% Land Deposit Paid:18.08.15 Land Registered: 04.17 Slab Poured: 15.08.17 PCI: 17.05.18 Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11365Jun 08, 2016 5:32 pm sandra 2016 DAY 7 of the 20 working days No letter from m to advise our supervisor, no port a loo. Nothing Our fence has been up for last 6 months at our expense so there's a plus don't have to wait on fence and all the 3 things they needed from us in 10 days was done months ago. So frustrating waiting with not even a loo to get a little excited about that there is any movement in their mind. 😭 sandra, they allow 20 working days cause it takes about that..... generally it seems 3 weeks, but they allow that little bit extra! Try not to hold your breath for the next 3 weeks to pass! They won't have the port-a-loo arrive (as they'll have to start paying for it) until they know they close to needing it/starting work. For us, port-a-loo, fence, and letter about the SS all happened at about week three. We selected the unit at tender stage and got m to draw up and PA as per requirements from Jetmaster. The wall and the other bits was $950 https://mandgbuildatmulgoarise.wordpress.com/ Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11368Jun 08, 2016 7:48 pm MGardz Yep M built ours. We selected the unit at tender stage and got m to draw up and PA as per requirements from Jetmaster. The wall and the other bits was $950 https://mandgbuildatmulgoarise.wordpress.com/ Oh awesome. That's what we thought and we're hoping. Will be able to make up a bit of our budget with the fire place then... __________________________________________ House/Land Package Purchased:02.02.15 5% House Deposit Paid:17.03.15 10% Land Deposit Paid:18.08.15 Land Registered: 04.17 Slab Poured: 15.08.17 PCI: 17.05.18 Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11369Jun 08, 2016 8:26 pm It was reasonable I think the isolation switch was a little extra at the electrical but nothing too bad. Just check what your fireplace needs as depending on the heat output and the fan distribution and the flue it will affect the materials and dimensions you need. I know if we went the bigger Lopi we would have had to upgrade the gyprock and the frame for the heat https://mandgbuildatmulgoarise.wordpress.com/ Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11370Jun 08, 2016 8:38 pm Yeah. I've done up plans (I'm a mech drafter), which has the cavity size needed, the position of flue penetration, loads for beams. And also passed on rinnais specifications... So think we're good. Just haven't been given a price. Have allowed the extra safety switch etc in my electricals breakdown. __________________________________________ House/Land Package Purchased:02.02.15 5% House Deposit Paid:17.03.15 10% Land Deposit Paid:18.08.15 Land Registered: 04.17 Slab Poured: 15.08.17 PCI: 17.05.18 Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11371Jun 08, 2016 8:46 pm Awesome! You're all over it. Hopefully you'll be in your new place way before next winter and will get to use it all winter long In other news, Our PCI has been moved to next Friday. Shall I take bets on whether it will proceed or not hehe https://mandgbuildatmulgoarise.wordpress.com/ Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11372Jun 08, 2016 8:49 pm Not liking my chances of being in prior to winter. But I like your optimism. Still waiting for land to register unfortunately.... Although have been watching 2 new masterton builds near our land and they've progressed nicely in a matter of weeks! Is everything finalised and ready for PCI to take place? Don't you have a leaking roof? It's a good sign if the other ones are being built quickly. Fingerscrossed for you it's not too long. There were a few of us with leaks this week not everything is finalised and our inspector's detailed report added more issues we didn't even know about. Whilst I hope they can do it the realist in me thinks we won't make it unless Mr Masterton works a few miracles for us. It also pays to check all your paperwork again as I discovered a lovely $2400 credit they forgot to do back when we we were doing appointments. It's a nice little windfall to go towards a few things https://mandgbuildatmulgoarise.wordpress.com/ Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11374Jun 08, 2016 9:21 pm Oran park. So just down the road from you... Any credit is good, no matter at what stage it comes... Here's hoping m comes through for you! __________________________________________ House/Land Package Purchased:02.02.15 5% House Deposit Paid:17.03.15 10% Land Deposit Paid:18.08.15 Land Registered: 04.17 Slab Poured: 15.08.17 PCI: 17.05.18 Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11375Jun 08, 2016 9:30 pm It's a very nice estate. We know a few people that live there. Thanks, I hope they do. I'm sure ready to move into this house and get a nursery together. It's been an exhausting 12 months https://mandgbuildatmulgoarise.wordpress.com/ Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11376Jun 09, 2016 10:28 am sandra 2016 DAY 7 of the 20 working days No letter from m to advise our supervisor, no port a loo. Now on my way to Melbourne! (Drinks!!) Found the colours appointment really good! Glass balustrade for stair came in budget. Air con a little over - but that's only cause we opted for the skywifi that daikin offer. Went the 18kw unit. Which will comfortably do 3/4 zones of the house. And could be pushed to do the 4th on the rare occasion we need it... At the end of the day, there's only 2 of us living there (and will only ever be the 2 of us!) so it was sufficient. Alarms and communications came under budget so happy there! All good!.. On to electricals. And ark. To get the 900mm free stand oven changed to 2 600 under benches and a 900 gas cooker was only 1350 - which were happy with. Though are waiting on a price for the next level up model (which has a silver finish not black glass!).. Splash back hasn't been confirmed but based on what we've been told, it should come in close enough to budget and should be able to go wth the mirrorstar!
