Do you want shadowlines, power to the island bench, extra drawers to the kitchen, where will your bin go, extra drawers to your bathroom vanity etc? Do you want essastone and what handles do you want? Are you happy with standard appliances or do you want/need to upgrade? - Is your fridge cavity wide enough?? Our plan *didn't* allow for a big enough fridge (we needed a 1m wide cavity once plaster was on, at minimum). - External - what bricks, mortar, render, render colour, downpipes, guttering, roof, do you want an alfresco. Do you want to upgrade your front door - paint or stain? - Electrical - LEDS, power points, network data cables door bell, antenna, tv points, external lights, alarm system. You can pick feature lights or go for extra battens etc. - Internal - paint colour, flooring pack? wardrobe fit out? Tapware - are you happy with standard or do you want to upgrade taps/tapware/basins? Spa baths - no one has any information - we ended up going to Reece as it was a PD communications nightmare with everyone fobbing us on to everyone else to advise what spas we could pick from. In the end Reece were really helpful and we just chose what we liked and PD accommodated that. - Tiles - National Tiles - what colour and style tile do you want, do you want extra tiling to the bathroom walls? - Birk Blinds - optional, but can be installed for handover. Hope this helps Build blog - http://hasslingthehoff.wordpress.com/ Re: Porter Davis homes 11285Apr 28, 2015 2:00 pm Pungentia thewoodies Advice needed... current pricing estimate mock up, given we don't have a tender appt and go straight to contract. Anything really obvious it looks like we're missing? (you may need to open the image in new window to read it, sorry!) Thanks thewoodies! Had a look over your quote - the only thing that jumped out to me was whether you want to consider waterproofing as opposed to the PD 'alternative' solution? Also - do you have flyscreens and locks to windows included? Do you have garage door power included? We haven't thought about extra waterproofing... I recall it being briefly mentioned on here a couple of months ago but maybe remind me? Fortunately flyscreens, locks & garage door power are all included in one of our packages (as is flooring, yay!). But... I contacted our BC Monday last week re a missing cavity slider on our plans and Chris has followed up with some other questions later in the week. Should I be concerned (for the future, I'm thinking of!) that we still haven't heard a peep from her? Following up with a phone call today. With what I've heard about PD communication issues this doesn't sound like an auspicious start. Anyone else have Wilma? Amazing how small details like that can slip notice. The only obvious spot for it is on a small bit of wall next to the basins, but it's currently so narrow that it's not going to work. We reckon fixing this won't be too much of a major, shifting the basins over a few cms and reducing the side of the window from 600 to 3 or 400. The PD salesperson mum & dad were speaking too said they usually don't like shifting plumbing but she didn't think it would be out of the question because it's such a small move. Finally got hold of our BC today - no surprise she hadn't read my email from a week ago nor Chris' from Friday. She reckons all our other issues can be dealt with on contract day ( ). When I brought up the issue of the towel rail she basically said "No structural changes". When I pointed out the idiocy of a master ensuite with no towel rail her response was basically "well some of the designs don't have space for a towel holder" and suggested that some people put them behind the door. Well our ensuite doesn't even have a door as standard - and one of my emails was because the cavity slider we'd requested between the WIR & the ensuite wasn't in the plans! *head meet wall*. She's going to speak to some people and get back to me but I can't picture her pushing too hard. We haven't even signed our contract and my confidence in our BC is about 1/10. WELL .... being my mother's daughter comes in handy at times (oops). I made it pretty clear to her that I was unimpressed. Not 10 minutes later I had a call back and she was like a different person. Had already spoken to people re the towel rail and come up with a solution. Ticked through everything on our list to make sure I was happy. I guess it's good that she knows we're not going to let ourselves get steamrollered The offending ensuite (yes this is our ensuite, we're not building a Waldorf!).... I thought that the site works had to start within 14 days of the Building Permit being issued... I can't remember where I read it though. Our Building Permit has a sentence which said the date that the building works had to start by. Re: Porter Davis homes 11294Apr 28, 2015 8:54 pm Not mine tlb. PD had 12 months to start. Porter Davis homes 11296Apr 29, 2015 11:34 am Just before we commit to it, can I get some feedback on our sketch for the ensuite? Basically we realised her plan wouldn't really work so she suggested we sent her what we wanted. This is based on a heated towel rail 600x800 (blue) and reducing the window to 400 wide . I would change the elongated awning window to a more traditional square or rectangle window and raise it higher like some of the bedrooms. Put the heated towel rail under it. Maybe something like this... Does that work?
