Im so lovin seeing your bench top as Im keen as to see mine. Sorry if I asked this before but what brand and colour is your bamboo flooring? When do the benches go on? Is it the same time as the cupboards? Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1124Dec 06, 2012 6:14 am Wow - Powerball Sam that all just looks amazing! What kind of flooring did you use? Progress is amazing with the other places too in the lead up to Christmas! We have had the framing for the lower level go in last week and then on Monday the top level and first course of brick arrived, followed by the Granite Guard and envirowrap on Tuesday. I can't believe how quickly things have happened this week, as after yesterday, we now have brickwork for about half the bottom level halfway around the house and the roof framing all on top ready to be erected! Meeting with the SS this morning to hopefully have a walkthrough and see where he thinks things will be at before the Christmas break! We are meeting with SS this morning as well to gain access for the engineer to have a look at our retaining wall. The Merlot is pretty much the non split design of the Clovelly give or take. We used this alot to get an idea of what our house would look like. The Merlot is a beautiful design cant wait to see your pics. Did you go with the open stacker doors to the alfresco? viewtopic.php?f=31&t=46741 Clovelly - Masterton Homes 5% to M 290312 CDC 21/06 20 days 29/08 Slab 17/09 Frame 26/09 Bricks 24/10 Roof tiles 20/11 Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1126Dec 06, 2012 6:34 am Awesome dsa39 that you will be going through this morning as well and that we are building similar places! We have two small kids so in the end just went with sliding doors because they are pretty hard on most things and figured once they grow up we can upgrade them later if we wanted! The Merlot design we have also has an additional ensuite downstairs off the study/spare room (for removing dirt from the small people before they spread it throughout the house!). Really excited about getting the walkthough today just to get some perspective on the room sizes - not that easy from the other side of the fence! Fingers are crossed they may get the roof on before they shut down for Christmas..... we have gone colourbond which I believe goes on quicker than tiles...... Merlot Hilton with Traditional Facade Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1127Dec 06, 2012 6:50 am We got our bamboo flooring from Accent, the colour was Coffee but I am not sure the brand. I will look it up for you. It was the interlocking type. So the floor did not have to be glued down. That way it is alot easier to repair in case the little monsters do anything to it. The cupboards for kitchen go in then a few days later the stone goes on top. They do that to make sure that there is no problems with the cupboards. Plus the stone people are a different mob. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1128Dec 06, 2012 7:08 am Ricaaaa how quickly after colours was the electrical appointment made? I'm assuming chances of it happening before Christmas is slim to none?! Just ring M and ask who and where the electrical is, and contact them and make the appointment. Don't wait for them Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1129Dec 06, 2012 7:11 am pacificisis Just a quick post - Glad to see everyone progressing. Yesterday 4th Dec "WE WERE SLABBED". Looks very level and will now wait a week for curing. Got the bill this morning! All we ever wanted was a slab by Christmas so we are VERY pleased with where we are at. SS has been quiet, but effective - Love it !! We have been told that the frames and roof should be done by Christmas close, so am excited to see if we make these milestones...... MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE ! Our frames were delivered on Monday and I'm hoping they should start putting them up today. According to our great SS, bricks should be delivered on the 17th. He has been on time so far, so I'm confident brick work will start before close and 'might' continue after very short break Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1130Dec 06, 2012 7:17 am abiggerhouse The Merlot design we have also has an additional ensuite downstairs off the study/spare room (for removing dirt from the small people before they spread it throughout the house!). Is your house the design that is displayed ay every double story house being built? Everyone in our street thinks that's the house we are building Looks like we are about few weeks behind yours. Thats awesome. We selected exactly the same flooring through accent so its good to see how it looks against the starlight black benchtops and white cupboards. Are you happy with accents work? Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1132Dec 06, 2012 8:01 am Yesterday, all external plumbing was completed. This does not include the underground detention tank. Looks like they will have to dig again for it later. I guess frames will start tomorrow. I'm sure you all know We are not borrowing the whole build amount from the bank. We will use our life savings to pay for some of the costs. Our idea was that the bank will pay its share and we will do the last progress payment from our savings. But, No! The bank expects you to pay the balance in advance and them to make the last payment. They don't tell you this. So, here we are waiting for the bank's inspector to visit the site and report back to them, delay of a week. I chase up and they tell me the above 'rule', they won't pay the invoice until we pay our part. So we are now one week behind in paying the invoice. Lucky, Masterton knows this and has agreed to extend the invoice due date till this Friday. We already received the second progress payment invoice! Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1133Dec 06, 2012 10:02 am Accent where OK with the job. I am not sure as I have never had timber/bamboo floors before. I will tell you after we spend a month with it. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1134Dec 06, 2012 3:38 pm Lower frames started today Had a quick visit at lunch time today, and as expected, the frames are up! This is a very exciting moment, as we can now visually see where things are and how big the rooms will be, not to mention, how big the house will end up. As for accent ,we went with them for carpet and unfortunately after 4 months our carpet in our main bed and theatre room is coming apart at the joins and lifting up in numerous places under the skirting boards,we did note that in our 3 month maintenance but have not heard anything from them. Our other issues are finally going to get started after the xmas shutdown(fingers crossed).Happy building everyone. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1136Dec 07, 2012 1:50 pm No activity for us today. Looks like they do not like working on Fridays I would hate to find out that due to banks payment delays workers have gone off to another job. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1137Dec 07, 2012 2:18 pm It seems to be a general thing with most tradies. You will find even though the banks are delaying you, M will still do the work but for every day your late with a payment, M will charge you accordingly. I just got a statement from M and there is no extra charge, unless I get a letter next week. I'm hoping the bank will EFT today or Monday. I tell you, it is a great feeling just having your first walk on your slab, between the frames and imagining where things are Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1139Dec 07, 2012 3:15 pm Vatche PS_Sirocco7 It seems to be a general thing with most tradies. You might feel that the rooms are so small but once the plasterboard is up it will feel alot bigger M are very understanding re the first payment because they know it's the bank's valuation holding up the process and not you. Ours was a week late but we kept everyone in the loop so it was all good. They won't delay your construction (yet!) so don't worry Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1140Dec 07, 2012 3:17 pm dsa39 Powerballsam your house looks awesome, congrats! Ditto!
