Re: SunshineT's Build: we've been SLABBED! 1102Mar 03, 2012 10:40 pm Agree with nerak, T.. At least you should report him, so he'll know you're serious & not just threathening him.. Go, T, you're in the right side!! Re: SunshineT's Build: we've been SLABBED! 1103Mar 04, 2012 5:26 pm Hi everyone. thanks for your thoughts and encouragement. to be honest, this has just been such a horrible process that after reading all your posts I just couldn't reply straight away. it's like this turning knot in my tummy whenever I think about it. I also received some very wise PMs, along the lines of to wait at least until we have moved in (when property is a little safer than during the build in case Mr S wants to get nasty). Pete_n_Pet had a good point about weighing up just how much it is worth. Well, in a nutshell: we paid $4K cash for repair, plus around $2.5K rent with wasted time, plus another $2K with other problems from the demo. When I think of just the $4K I kind of feel like just letting it go. Then I get angry that he is getting away with it and it is so unjust. the next step is writing a formal legal letter and sending that in... but I will just take my time... Meanwhile, our slab has had lots of rain to soak up for its curing process and now I am itching to get on the next stage! Our external drainage is booked in for tomorrow (Mon) but subject to rain smain pain. There's no rush ... just take some pleasure in the thought at the back of your mind that one day YOU WILL GET HIM!! For info on our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43093 Built the McLaren by Dechellis - slab down 22 Feb - handover 30 Aug 2011 - and gardens finished 9 Dec 2012!! Re: SunshineT's Build: we've been SLABBED! 1107Mar 06, 2012 6:54 pm thanks Ryan, Annette and springtime... so true... so true... progress: well, all our external drainage is done!! The rock was a real obstacle (in more ways than one!) which extended the job an extra day. but Deeb the plumber really worked hard all yesterday and today. Sydney Water inspection went fine, and the earth has been pushed up into the corner I wanted (so flush with the patio!!). Steel beams were delivered today too, all ready to go... but the forecast for rain tomorrow is 95%. Oh well. Can't complain, progress has been great when the sun does shine. It's beginning to really get exciting now!
