Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10941Dec 01, 2015 4:15 pm Just wondering if anyone has experienced poor workmanship from the brick layers and if they have had issues rectified and if so how was it rectified? Our house has been bricked and getting ready for roof tiles but hubby went to go and look over it with his dad and has come across some issues. Will post pics. Not sure if we are being unreasonable, but when you pay so much money you expect to get a reasonable job. We have walkthrough on Monday and will be bringing up some cracked spots, so will let you l ow what they say. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10944Dec 01, 2015 5:11 pm They will get their maintenance guy to fix it up. I'm going to go over our place again and note any spots they missed. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10945Dec 01, 2015 5:48 pm Amanda83 The pics I posted are to show the mortor with cracks, some not filled in, not in the iron form which is what we chose. Amanda83 are you building in Sydney area or coastal? It looks like the mortar may crumble. NN Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10947Dec 01, 2015 6:05 pm We are building in Sydney (Oran Park). Quiet disappointed but wasn't sure if I was being unreasonable. I've emailed and left a msg with our contact person at BW to arrange a meeting with the site supervisor. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10948Dec 01, 2015 6:08 pm Given what it looks like, is it a type of job that's easy enough to for it to be fixed? I have absolutely no idea and don't want to accept something that BW say if it's not the right decision. I think I will look into getting someone out and checking the progress from now on Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10949Dec 01, 2015 6:43 pm Amanda83, bricks don't look right, definitely get onto your SS, Lexia Slim Twist with Beechwood Homes http://houseoflexia.blogspot.com.au/ https://www.instagram.com/natlyn7/ Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10950Dec 01, 2015 9:16 pm Hi everyone, We are new to this forum but have been following it for quite a while and are getting plenty of hints and suggestions from it. We have recently settled on land in the Illawarra and are currently undergoing the tender process with BH. We are going to build the Moscato 5 with Grand Terrazza. Exciting but very scarey process all at once. We are currently waiting on a conditional approval from the bank before hopefully paying the initial deposit this coming weekend. Previously someone mentioned about signing the contract in order to get the $15k First Home Grant. We have also been told they can do a pre-contract, contract that will be recognised to get in before the drop to $10k. Has anyone on here built with the Austral Whitsunday Orpheus bricks? We want a dark colour brick in grey tonings from the standard range. But when I see these bricks at times they have a browny tinge. Can anyone help? Usually BW have been really good of giving me detailed updates and there has been no mention of them coming back. Appreciate you letting me know (if you remember) the out come from your walk through on Monday. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10953Dec 01, 2015 9:28 pm We had heaps of ******* spots where the mix looked like it was too dry. We had to have a couple of bricks replaced as well because they had big chips Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10955Dec 01, 2015 9:53 pm That looks great untwisted twist, what colour is your theatre? Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10956Dec 03, 2015 2:49 pm ezza0012 nataliea Hi everyone. We are currently building the Beechwood Bordeaux Four in West Wallsend near Newcastle, and our plans have just gone to council, so we are trying to narrow done our internal colours. I was just wondering if anyone knew how much it cost aprox for: -Upgrade on Polytec laminate benchtop colour -Upgrade on Polytec laminate benchtop profile (to square) -Upgrade on Polytec laminate benchtop finish from matt to gloss Any advice would be appreciated so we know what we are looking at heading into colours. Hi @nataliea how are you? I saw your post and I am looking at building the Beechwood Bordeaux Four too. I love the layout of this property! How has your process been? Have you got any photos of the property inside that you could show me? Apologies for the delayed reply. We are only up to contracts/colours at the moment, havent started construction.
