Good to know your council inspector is taking a closer look at things and making sure that they comply. Everyone has been extremely helpful and generous with their information. We were finally released into construction last Friday, and I am hoping some work is being done on the site as we speak. It is a very very long process to get somewhere. I am just have a quick question, we are looking at window treatments at the moment, and I am stuck on what to do with the ensuite (if anything really) We are building the Hawthorne 23 and we have a window with a width of 300mm and a 600mm drop ? For some reason we did not get the window glazing for privacy. Any ideas ? We put plantation shutters on our large ensuite window which is on the second storey. Works really well for us. Thank you so much for your responses. I was thinking shutters but wasn't sure if was too much for such a small window, we are doing it for our largers bathroom window. Will have a look around otherwise, yes I will have to draw on those book covering days... going out to site today, hoping we have at least been cut and filled as EB said the SS would call us this week but nothing ... HH, I will take a photo later on today of our small bathroom window that has been shuttered for you. I think it looks fine! So I will getting slabbed in the next couple of days and I required the "upgrade" of a H class slab, so I want to know how do I identify the difference between the H and M class? Thanks ! M Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10669Jul 04, 2014 3:48 pm By the thickness of the slab. A 'H' class needs to be thicker as it is subjected to more ground movement due to the highly reactive clay it is sitting on. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10673Jul 04, 2014 4:22 pm Mystro - ask your CSA for a copy of the engineers certificate, this will state everything for the slab and it will state dimensions as well. Google is hard cause it's all different. I tried and didn't understand. Are you just curious or lookng for something specific Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10675Jul 04, 2014 4:32 pm They tried to change my slab classificaiton on my final PCV from H to M after paying extra, however i picked up on it straigh away and fought it and won. Your CDC approved plans should be stamped as H and prior or after slab pouring i would ask for the plans, engingeers reports and concrete confirmation receipt or something. This is what we did and checked it over, however I am lucky to have a civil engineer as a dad so he backed us up and spoke to SS about all this. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10676Jul 04, 2014 4:54 pm Sorry Mystro it's all I'd do to get the information anyway.... 😉 Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10679Jul 05, 2014 9:57 am thanks kerith, that's very nice of you. pleased to see that a lot of work had been done over the week and slab to be poured next week and ss called on way out there. now just to keep this good weather going. M Hi mystro For articulated masonary veneer "H1" waffle edge beam depth is 385mm, "M" is 310mm and slab mesh is SL92 and SL82 respectively. Interesting that they downgraded the slab classification, did they quote a "H1" and find after the soil test it was a "M" ? I built with EB back on 2009.
