Our CSC has told us today she is mailing us our notification sign to hang at the front of the property. Was this meant to be done weeks ago??? Were they meant to do it (she said something about SS having it) Is that why our approval is delayed?? Not a good start! 2) what did you do with your utilities while they were building. Do you cancel with the water, electricity providers or can you do a special deal with them??? Thanks Building a Modified Madison 37. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10622Sep 03, 2015 8:23 pm What notification thing to hang out the front?? Has your house been demolished? Are your plans approved? Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10623Sep 03, 2015 8:24 pm With our cancelled the gas, electricity, water hasn't been cancelled, but we are still getting charged a service fee... hubby is going to look at that now. Leese are you renting or living with parents? I can't remember what you said! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10624Sep 03, 2015 8:28 pm It might be a Hornsby Council thing, but you have to have a sign at the front of the property showing the application. I think it was meant to be done a month ago. We are waiting for approval before we demolish. Kim, what did you do about your utilities? ? Building a Modified Madison 37. Oh... must be a Hornsby council thing. We certainly didn't have to do. We did get letter sent to us from our certifiers (went through CDC) to put in our neighbours letterbox to notify them of the demolition. We cancelled Gas and Electricity and still have water but we are getting charged the service fee, hubby has just said he is going to look into this tomorrow to see if we can cancel it altogether. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10627Sep 03, 2015 8:36 pm Nelly83 kimisstressed - what was the initials of your ss? maybe they had a promotion or got sacked.. We had SJ for a very brief two days. I am hoping our CSC will tell us tomorrow who our new one is. I just want one conversation with a few dates thrown at me and then I will calm the stressing! And yeah I knew the slab guy is different to our SS but I can't get in contact with him to discuss stuff as we weren't given his details. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10628Sep 03, 2015 8:42 pm Anyone in QLD know who Clarendon use for Air Conditioning? I haven't received a call for our Aircon appt yet. When did you get contacted by them etc and did you have a full on appointment with them? Next week we should hopefully have building approval and hoping to have all this crap sorted so there is zero delays. They use a company called HomeDeal Air conditioning.. Ring them and tell them you want your air con plans now. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10632Sep 03, 2015 9:47 pm Yeh, I think you need to continue paying water service (stormwater, sewage etc) rates. We have had to pay them since the build started on a vacant block. We also have to have electricity on too because it's being used to power the powertools, cement mixer etc. Gas is "connected" but no billing yet. Lizzy I think you were one of them? Our painters finally showed up today, almost 2 weeks late and they delivered the wrong paint. After all my nights staying awake worrying about my paint colour looking purple. i jumped at the chance to keep the new paint colour. (for those who remember my cladding was painted wrong too. Turns out they had the colour selection for the house down the street in our file) So we are now getting Winter Ice instead of Gemini Silver. Hope I like Winter Ice now haha. Sorry everyone haha you are so lucky! hope it turns out good.we have chosen winter ice for our interiors!!can't wait to see the pics We have also chosen winter ice, cannot wait to see your pics! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10635Sep 03, 2015 10:17 pm Fiona_in_Av KandRCH Fiona your internals look amazing and what a lot of natural light..you must be getting excited now I love your lamps, where did you get them from? Your kitchen looks gorgeous, the sheen looks so shiny! We have chosen that for our bathrooms, hoping it looks just as bright. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10636Sep 03, 2015 10:30 pm Hi Cat83, the lamps are from Beachwood Furniture in Avalon. I have also seen a light blue version which is also really nice from Alfresco Emporium at Collaroy, I'm going to get these for the guest room. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ You will be happy with the sheen look of the cupboards, they are so nice. I have them in the bathrooms and the laundry too, I was very boring white, white and more white, lol. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10637Sep 03, 2015 10:35 pm Lizzy083 FirstHomeBuilder2015 Hi guys, My wife have shortlisted a handful of homes amongst all the different mainstream builders. We been speaking to some friends about any experiences with Clarendon. One person said 2 neighbours of his had built with Clarendon and they encountered problems during building and after building. Just to check if this is a one-off case or its a poor standard, how has everyone building with Clarendon been? Have they taken longer than initially said and is the quality of work unto scratch? FirstHomeBuilder2015 Stoked with Clarendon so far! They are extremely flexible with changing plans etc, upgrades can be pricey but their standard range is quite nice also! Very professional, great workmanship overall! Haven't had any major problems yet!! Fingers crossed! Oh and my brother built with them and they are stoked also! They would recommend Clarendon any day! Thanks Tapatalk, this is good positive news!! i was a bit worried with the Parkhill we quite like but going in with 2 bad feedback given. Also very glad to see they flexible. One thing i have read in the forum is doing things yourself, not sure how keen I will be on that just to ensure warranty and ownership is with one person. I would hate to be in the "he did it" or "no they did it" battle. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10638Sep 03, 2015 11:06 pm firsttimer05 Cat83 After speaking with Clarendon today they have agreed that I can upgrade our sink to an undermount. We did have to pay an admin fee on top, but I guess its something we should have done in the first place and is also going to cost more and may not be possible after. Just waiting on the final costing and variation before we decide Hey Cat. Very interested to hear what they come back to you with on this one. Our upgrade request was approved and we were told we could ahead with the change but at the cost of the upgrade plus the admin cost of $500. I received the kitchen quote today so I am now just waiting on Clarendon to send through the variation with the total price. We ended up also changing the vanity benchtops to stone too as thought we may as well just do it all now under the one admin fee. Costings so far are: Admin fee $500 Increase depth of island carcass to 630mm to suit undermount sink (maintain standard overhang therefore overall island depth will be increased from 780mm to 830mm) $420 Cutout and polish of stone benchtop to suit undermount sink $480 Vanity benchtops to be stone 20mm QQ Luna White extra over laminate vanity tops $2140.00 Sink Oliveri Sonetto Double Bowl Undermount SN1063U is still to be priced by Clarendon (hoping this isn't a lot!!!) Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10639Sep 04, 2015 7:10 am Thanks Cat. There's a lot more reasons now then just the admin fee that I can't do it:) It will look great. Who's building with Clarendon?? 10640Sep 04, 2015 9:30 am I'm after some feedback please. We are doing our floor to ceiling tiles through the tiler directly. He is charging $3060 which includes colour matched grout for 3 full bathrooms plus the cost of the tiles. Does this seem reasonable? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And do you think this grout match is okay? One seems a tad dark to me and the other seems a bit too light? I am wanting a "concrete floor" look. Has anyone mixed grouts before? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
