Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10424Aug 28, 2015 12:05 pm Fiona_in_Av I had a super urgent issue the other week and I ended up emailing my SS and Ccd his boss too, I received a reply at 9:30pm on a Sunday night by both of them! I was also asked to only contact my CSC from now on and I said I'm on to my 3rd one and they don't answer the phone! This was a big problem in my eyes and a solution was achieved straight away. If I had left it for the CSC to get back to me, it would have been gyprocked over. A simple response like, hey, I got your response and I'm looking into it or, hey, I'm still looking into it, I haven't had a response would be a lot nicer than just nothing. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10425Aug 28, 2015 12:11 pm I know, they take about 2 days to reply. It would be nice if you could get your response before the weekend. ️ Who's building with Clarendon?? 10426Aug 28, 2015 1:23 pm So is it usual for plans to be submitted to the developer without you knowing??? I haven't heard from my csc and I just got a response to a query from my colour consultant saying any changes would incur a fee as plans were already submitted to developer.... I had no idea they were ready to go? Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10427Aug 28, 2015 1:52 pm leeleh So is it usual for plans to be submitted to the developer without you knowing??? I haven't heard from my csc and I just got a response to a query from my colour consultant saying any changes would incur a fee as plans were already submitted to developer.... I had no idea they were ready to go? It took me a week to get my revision C plans when I saw every other consultant had them. My CSC was away, and even though I met the other CSC looking after me on the day at my colour consult, I asked if she could send them through and she never did. Utterly useless. I ended up getting my Sales contact to send them through to me in the end, about a week later. Communication is horrible. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10428Aug 28, 2015 2:19 pm leeleh So is it usual for plans to be submitted to the developer without you knowing??? I haven't heard from my csc and I just got a response to a query from my colour consultant saying any changes would incur a fee as plans were already submitted to developer.... I had no idea they were ready to go? That's crap They really need to sort out their workflow and notification flow on. What's the point in having CSC's when none of them answer the phone? I know they are busy but all it does is delay decisions getting made! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10429Aug 28, 2015 3:39 pm Well I did get my revision D plans, but they screwed one up one of the changes I had for the WIP. They got it wrong the 1st and 2nd time so this time I've printed out the elevation diagram and edited it in photoshop for them. Everything else I flagged on the plans however they have fixed up. They still are yet to give me justification for why the induction cooktop upgrade is so expensive. All I have is a confirmation that is the upgrade price etc, which is just ridiculous. What they did say is: "We managed to get away with not going through the relaxation on the garage wall." which was the height issue. Thing is, they didn't change anything in the plans, so it would be good to know exactly how they avoided it. Avoiding it is great guys, but how exactly is that the case...... Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10430Aug 28, 2015 4:37 pm The whole communication thing has been our biggest complaint about the process so far. Bmitchel when I saw ur post about doing the document for them I laughed! We had a variation that they just couldn't get right.we ended up typing up a whole document for them and somehow when they put it back into their form they managed to make mistakes! All they had to do was copy and past but for whatever reason they didn't manage to do it without mistakes! Good luck with urs! And good luck getting any further explanations out of them for costs or why plans change/ don't change! But I will say when u get your file to construction you certainly do get a great sense of relief! Not necessarily satisfaction but definitely relief! When I hassled them about the rangehood upgrade price they came back and still said it was the same price (which is still ridiculous), but at least they also then gave me two other cheaper options to choose from. What has annoyed me so much today is we are now being slugged another approximately $1500 to move our rainwater tank because they stuffed up the plans and didn't adhere to council restrictions. It's either fork out the money or have the tank visible out of the two family room windows. Again the CSC will ONLY respond to emails. I've given up trying to call. That is ridiculous that you have to fork out $ for their screw up. That is pretty unreasonable. I might just have to suck it up about the induction cooktop. The sales guy said I should push it and ask for why. I'm not being unreasonable am I? Ha I just need to get through these plans etc and then hopefully I can have the relief you talk of. I keep finding things unfortunately and not all at once. Only nit picky things which is good. One thing I want to work out if they can change is I have powder 1 downstairs with a cavity slider. Due to the shower on the left and the cavity sliding on the right, the only place switches can go is across the room on the left side of the vanity. This means you are sliding it all the way open and heading to the right to turn on the light. I've asked if cavity can go on the left so you can then put the light switches straight to the right. It might be a bit of a problem though as the wall on the left is load bearing and probably can't put a cavity slider in there... who knows anyway... See what they say!
