Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10305Aug 25, 2015 9:39 pm HansensintheHills Cat83 We went with wooden stairs with white risers and couldn't be happier, they bring a certain quality to your home that is hard to match with carpet. As for safety in all honesty both have their problems....carpet can be quite slippery with socks and certain shoes, the same goes for wooden stairs wearing socks. Our young kids had more falls on our previous carpeted stairs probably because they looked safer thus less care was taken. We also went with a vinyl plank which has come out fantastic, gen stairs colour matched the treads and you would never know they are not all the same wood. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Hi Hansen, If you don't mind me asking how much was your final stair quote?
We paid $7250 which included colour matching and french polish....the finishing took 4 days!!!
We paid $6000 for the bottom two stairs to be timber and french polished and changed some of the metal risers. Thinking for a little more we could have done the whole staircase, as would of loved a whole timber staircase but just thought it was out of our price range Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10306Aug 25, 2015 9:43 pm For those who have their kitchens in already and went createc, was it worth the money? We are doing white lower cabinets/drawers and looking at the createc sample to the sheen sample they look practically the same. I could save myself $2250 if I just go sheen. We are doing white lower cabinets/drawers and looking at the createc sample to the sheen sample they look practically the same. I could save myself $2250 if I just go sheen. We just got sheen but then our particular colour for the bathrooms and laundry were unavailable in sheen so got a createc upgrade for free.. So our bathrooms/laundry are createc and kitchen is sheen still... to be honest you can see the difference if they are side by side but I think the sheen is glossy enough and looks lovely and saves you a lot of money. I cant believe how expensive the createc is. I think you would be just as happy with sheen for a lot less money. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10312Aug 26, 2015 8:49 am Apparently the Matang Chocolate I found last night is the wrong one. It's a paver, not a tile. So it was different.. so now, we are going to go with the proper Matang Chocolate, which is very similar to the Laguna Wenge: Matang Chocolate first, then Laguna Wenge for comparison: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Paddington 29 @ Blue Horizon Estate (Lot 105, Wattleridge Crescent, North Kellyville) Our Build Progress Blog: http://light487.wordpress.com/ Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10314Aug 26, 2015 9:00 am Our quote came back from Genneral for our upgrade to timber staircase... $6k for Victorian Ash with french polish ='( I wanna cry. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10316Aug 26, 2015 9:15 am oh thanks Leeleh! Yes I think white risers would save you $$. I will look into this. not sure how the white would look as we are looking for a darker stained finish on the timber after and matt grey tiles for the flooring downstairs =/ Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10317Aug 26, 2015 9:33 am leeleh Light, I actually really love the chocolate very close in colour which is good After receiving the amended tile selection I noticed that the chocolate is actually the same tile we have for the floor in the ensuite Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 10318Aug 26, 2015 9:37 am bk84 oh thanks Leeleh!
