Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10261Apr 06, 2018 8:48 pm Finally, today I received the much awaited introductory phone call from my site supervisor. Very impressed with the conversation, the updates and the comfort level he provided, and really looking forward to same experience for rest of the build! Electrical and external plumbing completed today, and expecting frames on-site next Wednesday! For us, its a 6m setback and the driveway quote is ~16K, and front fence quote is 21K. For decking, its 16K for upto 25 sqmt. Also, note that these quotes does not include the load/excavate/siteprep that may be required for driveway/decking. Colorbond fencing externally will cost you about $65 per lineal meter +$25 per sleeper roughly. And coloured concrete I think is around $100 per sqm externally Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10266Apr 07, 2018 7:09 am doosra singalg NickMutch Hi All, sorry don’t want to be the annoying new guy - but just getting some ball park costs - can anyone advise what WH directly charged for; - concrete driveways - fencing - decking The prices really depend on the size of both. Have you considered additional costs for other upgrades such as site costs, flooring, electrical, air Conn, kitchen, cabinetry etc. If you add in landscaping and blinds/curtains we will be $200k above base price. I had a quote for my pool area and it's crazy expensive. U mentioned 16k for 25sqm. That's $640 per sqm and typically decking outside is about $200-$250 per sqm. Colorbond fencing externally will cost you about $65 per lineal meter +$25 per sleeper roughly. And coloured concrete I think is around $100 per sqm externally I agree doosra, this was the provisional quote I received for landscaping. I will shop around to see how it can be done for cheaper, and cherry pick items that I could use on landscaping voucher provided by W. That was me - and I still am! Lol! This is the best place to be to get all your answers questioned! The guys on here are awesome and a wealth of knowledge. I would be so sad if they stopped coming on here after their build is finished (insert sad crying face). No seriously, a lot of my doubts and indecisions were answered just by asking the lovely people on here So for those whose builds are almost done, please continue to check in now and again! Would still love to hear how much you are enjoying your beautiful houses Anyway, back to the question. We are using the voucher to go towards the driveway, mailbox and remove the fill and excavate driveway. The rest like laying turf, plants and decking etc we are doing ourselves after handover. Even though I would have loved move in ready, hubby and I figured we should at least have one project after handover that we can do together! So for us it's the gardening part! Our whole landscaping quote was just over 40k! We hope to find a local small business to do the decking. I know Bunnings have decking and DIY kit or something like that but if hubby were to try and do it, i would definitely need Liability insurance.. lol! I literally stumbled across this forum mid week and can’t keep away! I think we’ll get WH to do the stuff that can’t be done with a few visits to Bunnings and a few mates! Has anyone installed a pool via WH? We are going with a Coogee and curious to see how much the glass balustrades are.. Manhattan52, yes, it is abt 6 weeks, but you will need to go to CDC for demolition also - so make sure you do factor in that time too. I think once you receive DA approval, you shall aim to apply for CDC approval for demolition asap, as sometimes demolition can take longer. Check with Laya may be, as she applied for my CDC approval. It was 8 weeks for us (10 including the Xmas break). We lost a week because our CSR missed that we had returned our signed off construction plans. Our other delay was waiting for management to decide on our price increase for exceeding contract expiry date - that expired in Nov but they didn’t make a decision on it until Jan.
