Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 10241Apr 02, 2016 8:07 pm There's so much to do its overwhelming. I'd like to meet new SS on site, the other two would do it so hopefully this one does too. Probably wouldn't hurt to ask yours the same https://mandgbuildatmulgoarise.wordpress.com/ Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 10242Apr 03, 2016 5:44 pm S-VE Gibson and BB - What is this $1000 you are referring to ? We haven't been asked to pay anything yet. At some point you'll need to connect to the mains power, you can use any sparkie you want. Just be ware of anyone wanting you to contract them to do the work way earlier than it needs to be done. I just assumed we had to do it. But I haven't been charged $1000. I just filled out the online paperwork then I got a welcome letter from AGL and they just billed us $60. Anything can M do to push the process faster for u? Fingers cross it will go well for u guys!!! Gibson-we were also contacted by AGL as they were told by M to connect power for us, just fill up paperwork online and received an email with confirmation, didn't get charged $1000 though! MGaedz-New SS again? OMG! Seems staff turnover is really high in building industry!!!!!!!! Wish this is the last one and the best one u have!!! Our construction started 17th March. Was raining a bit that week and didn't see much happening other than the clear land. I messaged our SS to say Hi. He called back saying what will they do there next and will meet us on site when frame arrives (Probably in another 3-4weeks). Then last week some concrete and mud went in. And drove pass Saturday and surprisedly Saw a few people working there. Wish everyone a nice week! Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 10246Apr 04, 2016 5:37 pm Very exciting VillinaElite 2016. Can't wait to see action on our block. Lucky you haven't become too attached to any of your SS MGardz Can anyone tell me the process and future Council involvement on build sites? I've heard that at certain points a certifier is needed on site (when slab is poured, frame is up etc). is that a Council certifier or someone accredited from Masterton? To obtain an Interim Occupancy Certificate, and then a Full Occupancy Certificate, is that again a Council certifier or Masterton on site? Just confused on the process. M will appoint a certifier and arrange all the inspections when necessary during the build. At the end they will give you a list of things that are required to be done by you to get the occupancy certificate. This could be things like driveway, retaining walls, steps and handrails etc. Once done you call the certifier and he comes and does the final inspection. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 10249Apr 04, 2016 8:36 pm Martinsharmony I don't think I could get very attached to them if I tried... BB in the PCI paperwork they talk about when you have to get the certifier back in after you've done all the "owner to complete" items, they refer to a $250 fee, is this to get the final OC? Also will councils give you bins before you get an IOC? Good to see some slabs! https://mandgbuildatmulgoarise.wordpress.com/ Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 10250Apr 04, 2016 8:53 pm MGardz, we had the certifier come out twice to get the OC. We had completed all the items we were advised that needed doing, and one of the items had been to get the driveway done. What wasn't known at the time was that once the driveway was done, we then had a drop of 1.2m off the side of the top of the driveway, so when the certifier came the first time, we failed to get the OC. Once we fixed this issue, we got him back and we passed. We didn't need to pay for his first visit (I gather we had already paid this to M), but we did have to pay to get him back the second time. From memory is was about $350? I could be wrong though! As to bins, we couldn't get bins till we had at least an IOC. To get bins, we had to present an IOC or OC to council and fill out their paperwork. Once we had done all the work the certifier came and it never cost us anything so maybe you get one inspection included and any more you have to pay for. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 10254Apr 05, 2016 1:25 pm Hi VillinaElite2016 No Masterton do not give a toss that our house will be out of contract in 58 days!!!! I have totally lost it today because I just found out Dons don't stock the floor tiles that we picked over a year ago (we modelled our entire wet areas off these tiles). If our useless SS actually did his job we would be well passed where we are and they would have been ordered. We have been told not to expect a phone call weekly as that's asking too much (fair enough but should have told us 8 months ago when we started construction) instead we get no contact! zero zilch nothing!!!!! I have soooo much to say and unfortunately cant put it on a public forum. On the plus side I have an amazing neighbour who fills me in when people turn up, plus I hear all around our area what is happening with our house from other Masterton customers. I would think that when you spend this much money on a house you would get some form of customer service. #jimwouldnthaveitanyotherway I swear I am in the running for longest house to get to lock up! Sorry for my rant, I just don't know how a company like this can get away with all the bull that I read about on here. I know this has happened to heaps of people about the tiles........Any advice is appreciated, what if I have to change all the tiles due to nothing matching, do M charge me 2k for that? We are out of contract and past PCI and now we can't get a response from M. Hoping your build picks up. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 10260Apr 05, 2016 1:49 pm S-VE Not one rain day because the SS hasn't planned all that much work so it never fell on a rain day. I was told ours is a logistical nightmare because of the size. If they were not up to it they shouldn't have a house design that size! We have no shortage of trades, our issues are all down to the SS not being accountable for the job.
