Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10143Jun 19, 2015 4:12 pm ![]() Also Jeff - maybe a silly question but what is the width of the stair case you have there - again just trying to vision what mine will look like from seeing your pic We will have 4 steps from the entry hall way down to the garage.. 3 Steps from Entry to Main living etc... Wood is Tasman oak i believe. (just under 2k extra)...if you plan to put tiling on your steps just as for MDF. which would be cheaper. Width of the stairs would be 2.010. Which is the Width of the Entry hall way. We received our first tender in may and signed contracts in early December...slab laid 1st week of march due to lots of rain where we are. Popped in today for a quick visit and tiler has started the kitchen splashback and ensuit. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10147Jun 19, 2015 8:56 pm Wow so much is happening on here now!!! When I say just starting we signed our tender before Christmas, finally made it to colours and electrical layout on 25th of May and our 28 days finishes on Monday - all we have so far is a construction fence on our block in Fletcher. Any tips on the process would be more than welcome. We are building the Edgecliff 36 and have been told that ours is the first to be built other than the display - exciting and scary all at the same time. Hi Alisa, We are also planning to build the Bayswater floor plan in fletcher. Our plans still in council. Good luck with your building. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10149Jun 20, 2015 9:26 am Tiling is underway, almost the entire house was tiled in one day and only around the edges to go. We rocked up at 7.30pm last night and they were still going :O Carpet booked in for next Tuesday. And........................... PCI NEXT FRIDAY!!!! Appliances and hot water booked for the following Thursday ![]() kays_first_home can't wait to see pics!!!! ourbayswater and alisa the edgecliff is my fav double story design, DH and I have already decided if we build again it will be that design (in my dreams)! Did you make any changes to the initial plans? We had also some issues with developer in regarding the water tank position (need to relocate 1.8m from the primary wall as we were positioned at 1.7m) and the driveway colour. Hopefully we will get council approval by next week. We still have no idea about colours in our kitchen and wet areas. We decided to do the main floor tilling after the handover. We got a $12500 quote from tile-direct (porcelain tiles 600*600), so we thought better to do after handover in almost half price. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10152Jun 20, 2015 12:08 pm ![]() If you haven't confirmed tiles after handover I will make a suggestion - our tile quote came back $8,500 from tile direct. I was surprised because I had estimated much cheaper - I rang the other supplier Modern Tile at Erina. I gave them the tile choices that we wanted, added the bathroom edging and grout and for exactly the same tiles throughout the price is $1,600. I nearly fell over as that includes delivery charges to Fletcher. We drove down to Erina and confirmed all the tiles are the same - the bathroom tiles we chose were in upgrade at tile direct and standard at Modern Tile and the SS edging in the bathrooms was 15 a length instead of $30. The difference is ridiculous. May be worth a call to them if you still have your quote. They also don't want payment until the times are ordered. Tile direct wanted us to pay $8,500 on the day or within a week. Thank you alisa, we are going to erina on next week. We thought its too much drive and get almost same tiles in erina. Goodness! we haven't yet talked with BH. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10154Jun 20, 2015 1:02 pm ![]() Im at modern tile erina now if anyone has a quick question if could you take some picture of white/ cream porcelain tiles and standard bathroom tiles (evolution series). many thanks Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10155Jun 20, 2015 1:14 pm We went with Modern Tiles at Erina, so much cheaper. Although we haven't gotten the invoice yet for our upgrades ![]() Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10158Jun 20, 2015 1:23 pm Our selections from Modern Ensuite Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Main Bathroom Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Laundry Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ While I'm at it, flooring we are doing after handover Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Can't wait to see it all come together Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10159Jun 20, 2015 3:48 pm We're in a rental at the moment with outdoor charcoal tiles in the entry. They look great but get really dirty and are hard to clean, you can't just mop them. I do however like the idea of the one tile, it will flow nicely Re: Who is building with Beechwood 10160Jun 20, 2015 3:53 pm Very nice, I think the main tile will look great throughout Elvis has left the building...
