Hmmm Jeetna, disaster but a great word to associate with the layout! Ha ha!! ! But you think centering along the cabinets and fridge would be better? My friends a kitchen cabinet maker and thinks same length is best but we can't afford a 4.5m bench!

I agree that you should have something that goes the full length. Maybe consider adding back the servery? Don't forget that it can always be removed later on.

Otherwise I would be centering, as I reckon it would like awkward if it was to one side.

Oh sorry, didn't realise that was Gemini. But yes, we will centre it and hope for the best. Not a fan of the servery thing personally. Hope it looks ok. Too late now. Getting a bit stressed before contracts tomorrow but will be glad when it's signed off and I can get on with my life! Ha ha

We are in the fix up stage :-)

Tilling has completed and shower/taps are fitted. Kitchen is yet to be done and lot of plaster work and rework to be done.

What needed to be reworked?

They need to replaster the garage roof and alfresco roof as it leaked and plaster came down and also laundry chute and kitchen bulkheads will need to be done

We are building Noosa facade and we are using the weathertex .It is natural wood look cladding which they will match it with door and garage door colour

Ah ha! A photo the designer showed me though said it would fade/change colour in 17 months?

I don't believe it needs painting after 17 months as it will be three coats of dulux exterior paint in wood look finish which is same as any weatherboard look finish facade. it goes on for atleast 5 years. I can not take photos at this stage as it fully covered by stacks of scaffoldings and it is raw and not painted yet. It will be ready by 31st as per SS and i will post pics then,

Oh ok! The lady at the colour browse showed me pics on how the stain would fade and become lighter in 17 months. Eg with before and after photos etc. Il need to ask again.

That is Cedar wood which needs to be stained. But what i am talking and selected is weathertex painted with wood look boards with exterior dulux paint. They told me as well and hence we went with this option. Mind you, they gave as $2500 discount on the facade cost.

Ha! She told me what she was showing me was weathertex!! Will verify when im there with the lady who actually does selections!

Did you consider going with someone like Knotwood? Or arden didnt want to do that?

only option they gave us weathertex which has wood look finish natural with stain to match our colour selection. also it is more durable as it is synthetic material

I reckon if you like it so much, get it. The kitchen bench is the centerpiecece of a home, so it is worth prioritising.
