You’re timeline has been very similar to ours so far we are thrilled the pace things are moving too. Fingers crossed they keep it up! I hope they keep it up but I think ours might be sitting idle for the next week as the roof is booked in for the next week and due to lead times it can’t be moved forward. Re: Our First Dream Home Week 3 Frame - G&P Builders 103Feb 10, 2018 3:04 pm icat2000 Your choices are really nice. I too are trying to go with a Coastal theme with a little shout out to Hamptons style. I would like to go full Hamptons style one day, but not this build. I haven't been on pin interest much, but Instagram and I have spent hours and hours searching for lights. Thank you! Choices are so hard, actually choices are easy but sticking to just one is the hardest. I’ve only just discovered Instagram. Do you have a build page? Re: Our First Dream Home Week 3 Frame - G&P Builders 104Feb 10, 2018 3:07 pm Dani_J sparrowsnest The frame is finished . Our home is custom as well Dani, we are very lucky it is going so quickly. I hope it continues at this pace but I think it will be just sitting idle next week until the roofers come the next week. Wow then you are extra lucky it is going so quickly! That's awesome. We've had a real shortage of good tradies around our area and terrible weather to deal with early on so it took over six months to get to lock up! We are building double storey though. Our 37sq Custom Hamptons Inspired Home: http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=86931 I think our builder has groups of his own trades that go from one of his builds to the next. Who are you building with? Re: Our First Dream Home Week 3 Frame - G&P Builders 105Feb 10, 2018 10:12 pm sparrowsnest I think our builder has groups of his own trades that go from one of his builds to the next. Who are you building with? Just a small builder in west of Melbourne. I think they use contractors so sometimes they are on other jobs and not always available. But we've been happy to wait. We figure it was better to go with the ones they know and trust and so far everything has been top quality so can't complain! A bit sad but it was expected. My builder did email me to let me know that the frame was finished very quickly and ahead of schedule and that the roof could not be moved up. Our client services manager has been in contact over the week though updating me on what has been booked for the next couple of weeks and booking us in to deliver our plumbing fixtures to site and meet the plumber and electrician onsite on 5/3. I’ve realised that our bath niche is in the wrong position. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The builder has looked into it and assured me that the carpenters will fix it when they go out to install the windows. One of the reasons I stayed away from the big Builders is I had heard so many negative reviews on here about how they dealt with errors. So far I’m very happy with the quick and positive response by the builder to any errors or variations. After the chatter on here about pendants I decided to start Pinteresting up a storm. Now I’m pendant obsessed lol. Is it wrong to have pendants in every room? I might have to start a thread just about pendants. Can the dining be different to the island bench pendants? The kids has fan/light combos in their rooms. Could I put a pendant in the corner for a reading corner or study corner? Our First Dream Home Week 4 Waiting - G&P Builders 110Feb 16, 2018 5:05 pm OMG SN you have unleashed your inner pendant monster . The kitchen doesn’t have to match the dining perfectly but it should carry a similar texture, colour scheme or style to have the continuation. But it other cases completely different pendants go perfectly in certain homes. It really comes down to what you like and want.
You certainly have picked a lovely range of lights, I do like the beaded chandeliers, one of those over your dining table and possibly woven wicker ones over the island the matching part is they are natural products but different looks but still go together really well. I really like the acorn pendants for the master they are pretty. You have a heap of choices a head of you . I brought three pendants on Valentine’s Day . Great to hear your ss is so happy to share the upcoming schedule and everything will pick back up once the roofers have been. Re: Our First Dream Home Week 4 Waiting - G&P Builders 111Feb 16, 2018 6:55 pm Waiting is so hard... when will you get your roof? I have been obsessed with pendants for a year now, and still can’t make up my mind about what I want!!! I have my entry pendant that I bought on sale months ago and will have a little chandelier above my ensuite vanity - but deciding on the dining room and island pendants... aarrgg! I’ve changed my mind so many times it’s not funny! I think I actually need to see the kitchen in to know what will suit best... so many choices! - B A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=87210 Our First Dream Home Week 4 Waiting - G&P Builders 112Feb 16, 2018 7:07 pm Ha, you're now on the pendant roller coaster. Fun but frustrating at the same times as there are SO many choices out there! You can definitely have different pendants for your dining and kitchen but as tribe said, nice to have something that ties them in together whether it be colour or style or material. We are heading out to more lighting places tomorrow to see if we can find a statement pendant/ chandelier for our stairwell void. I just love all the timber American stuff which is hard to get here. Totally crushing on this right now and hope we can find something similar, or better still, get it imported for a reasonable price! We asked to have some window heights adjusted as we found them too low, and to reduce the walk in linen and make the laundry bigger. Our builder was happy to accomodate. A volume builder would never have agreed to any of it. Re: Our First Dream Home Week 4 Waiting - G&P Builders 113Feb 16, 2018 8:44 pm Tribe7 OMG SN you have unleashed your inner pendant monster . I was so indecisive over my cabinetry and now that that’s locked in I have two weeks to be indecisive about pendants. I’m sure my husband is super excited about the prospect lol. I actually have never spoken to or seen my site supervisor. I have always spoke to one of the owners of G&P or the client services manager who sends out a fortnightly email about the upcoming job. It’s funny because I thought I would be bugging my site supervisor every other day. Disappointing but understandable. I guess all the trades don’t revolve around my build sadly lol. My husband wants to wait to see the rooms in but our meeting is with the electrician on 5/3 so we really need to decide what we are doing by then. I work much better to a deadline. I procrastinated about the cabinetry for months and months, waking up at night thinking about it. Once I locked them in last week I’ve barely thought about them again. I think I had better do the same with the pendants, and move onto another decision Re: Our First Dream Home Week 4 Waiting - G&P Builders 116Feb 16, 2018 8:53 pm Dani_J Ha, you're now on the pendant roller coaster. I feel like the kids bedroom windows are too close together but I thought it would be too late to change .
